Qualifications:
 Good level of standard education  Enhanced Surgical Assistant Course Application/Interview
 Registered General Nurse or Operating Department  Degree working towards Masters CSFA credential
Practitioner  Mentorship Course
 Approved Surgical First Assistant Course  Advanced or Intermediate Life
 Able to demonstrate commitment to continued Support Training
professional development

Experience:
 Substantial years post registration experience in CV & interview
relevant area
 Clinical supervision and clinical education experience
 Knowledge of legal and ethical issues surrounding
extended roles

Knowledge:
 You must already work in the healthcare field  NHS targets and guidelines CV & interview
specifically in a surgical capacity.  EMIS Clinical System
 Provide continuous, competent and dedicated
assistance under the direct supervision of the
operating surgeon throughout the procedure, whilst
not performing any form of surgical intervention.

Skills:
 Excellent organisational and communication skills  Experience of use of a medical CV & interview
 Able to prioritise effectively software package (EMIS Web)
 Able to research outcomes to Clinical and Surgical
problems  Proven record of effective use of
 Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team networking and influencing skills
 Computer literate
 Hold a full UK driving licence.  Ability to think strategically
