ACTIVITY: Work instruction for Hot Air Oven

PURPOSE
To describe the procedure of operation of Hot Air Oven.

SCOPE
This Procedure is applicable for operation of Hot Air Oven

RESPONSIBILITY
QC in charge is responsible for supervision of the activity. QC Microbiologist is
responsible for maintenance and operation of the instrument.

PROCEDURE
1. Ensure that the instrument is clean.
2. Open the ventilation knob provided in the top of the oven. Switch ON the
instrument.
3. Switch ON the main power supply.
4. Electronic temperature controller displays the chamber temperature.
5. Set the required temperature by pushing the PUSH switch first
potentiometer knob clockwise or anti clockwise until the temperature sets
one.
6. Set the temperature with the help of second potentiometer knob.
7. Release the PUSH switch.
8. Use the rotary switch to precise control of the temperature
9. Four positions of rotary switch are available.
 OFF position
 5 0C above ambient to 90 0C
 90 0C to 150 0C
 150 0C to 250 0C

10. Keep the switch on suitable marking as per requirements of the temperature
