BABY BATH

 The best area to bath a baby is in the kitchen

 Survey the area first turn off electric fan or aircon
 Hand washing first, then proceed
 Prepare the bath tub with warm water, baby soap, baby shampoo, cotton balls,
towel or pranela, dress for the baby
 Check the baby’s temperature
Normal Temperature is 36.5˚c to 37.5˚c Below Normal: 35˚c
 If the temperature is below normal- buhatin si baby yakapin atleast 5 mins
Then check the temperature if normal na.
 Sa pagpapaligo sa baby WE DO NOT USE GLOVES

1. Cleaning the baby’s face- use cotton balls soak in the water C and S technique (left and right
side) from the forehead to the cheek down to the chin NOTE: use 1 cotton ball at a time
2. Cleaning of the eyes- inner to outer canthus (left and right) NOTE: use 1 cotton ball at a
time
3. Cleaning of the ears- outer part and the back part of the ears NOTE: use 1 cotton ball at a time
4. Cleaning of the neck
5. Shampooing the baby (EVERY OTHER DAY) - carry the baby- using a baby shampoo rub gently in
a circular motion rinse with water NOTE: takpan ng daliri ang ears ni baby para di pasukin ng
water, pat the head gently with a towel to dry
6. Cleaning the genital part of the baby- removing the diaper, clean using cotton ball soak in the
water (7 technique)
7. Carry the baby into the bathtub- splash with water gently scrub the body with hands
8. Lower part ng body ni baby - Same procedure
9. Back part of the baby-
10. Put the baby on pranella or towel and pat dry the baby’s body
11. Clean the ambilical cord- using cotton ball and alcohol with betadine solution
12. Dress the baby and prepare the milk- measurement: 2 scoop is to 1 ounce of water
13. Burp the baby- Cary the baby for 5 minutes
14. If ever nabilaukan si baby- karga si baby padapa himasin ang likod 5 times pataas CPR 5 counts
using 2 middle finger
15. Pag matanda naman ang nabilaukan- position patagilid na patalikod tap sa lower part ng batok 5
times then, position patalikod 2 braso paakap kamay sa tapat ng sikmura 5 times

ADULT BED BATH

Mga kagamitan: Towel, shampoo, bath soap, tooth brush, tooth paste body lotion

● Survey the area close the curtain

● Ask the patient kung iihi etc bago maligo

1. Cleaning the face- soak the towel in the water pigain (S and Z technique
forehead to the cheek down to the chin) left and right side
2. Cleaning of the eyes- inner to outer canthus (left and right)
3. Cleaning of the ears
4. Cleaning of the neck

5. Arms/ kamay
1st towel: Rinse 2nd towel: Scrub 3rd towel: rinse 4rth towel: pat dry
6. Chest/dibdib
1st towel: Rinse 2nd towel: Scrub 3rd towel: rinse 4rth towel: pat dry
7. Back part/likod
1st towel: Rinse 2nd towel: Scrub 3rd towel: rinse 4rth towel: pat dry

CHANGE THE RUBBER MAT AND DRAW SHEET--- patient nakatagilid fold rubber mat siksik
sa likod ibiling sa kabila si patient then hila mdumi
NOTE: Use Gloves and mask

8. Perineal Care for women- clean the perineal area using cotton balls and forceps
(7 stroke technique)
Warm water, feminine wash
9. For men- forceps with cotton balls use 2 fingers to hold and clean
Warm water, 40% alcohol, cotton ball, forceps (Pag tumigas lagyan ng yelo)
