JOSEPH C.

MAICDEM
Narrative Report

In my first day of doing my job as a student teacher, I’m so nervous because I’m
facing to a real situation of Teaching. Unlike then, the one conducted before the
deployment, when I am discussing in front of the class, I don’t feel that nervousness
and shyness because those who are looking and listening to me are my classmates and
my Teacher only. The difference is that I am always interacting with new people (my
students and my new teachers) in the school every day.

But in the meantime, I gained confidence in doing my job as a Practice Teacher

because my Cooperating Teacher, Mr. Vernie D. Fernandez. He helped me on how to
be a good Teacher. He thought me some ideas on how to handle a class properly. Like
how to gain the interests of the students before starting the class in order for them to
listen to my lesson. He thought me also on how to maintain classroom management in
the class specially when the students are noisy, not listening and losing interest about
the topic. The hard part for me as a Practice teacher is maintaining Classroom
Management because almost or some of my students are not interested in my class.
Some also disrespect and don’t obey me (not all the time). Maybe they are thinking that
I am only a Practice Teacher.

I want also to present our Head Teacher, none other than Mrs. Conchita M.
Guarin. Mrs. Guarin is a good Teacher to us. When we seek advice to them, they are
always there to help us specially in making and preparing our lesson plan. Mrs. Guarin
is an approachable Teacher.

There is some sort of things that I don’t know. That’s why I always approach my
Cooperating Teacher and Head Teacher. Asking them what to do and seek advices to
make my teaching better. When I’ve done a mistake, I say sorry to my CT and then

But now, I am happy doing my job as a Practice teacher because I gained trust
to my co Practice Teachers and to my students. Thank You to Mr. Vernie D. Fernandez
for accepting me as their practice teacher, and also for trusting me to handle his
students. I am very thankful to my Cooperating teacher because he is always ready to
help and assist me when I am in trouble.

I’ve also encountered some of problems inside the class. Problems like some of
my students are not entering my class and prefer to do cutting class. Being rude of my
students when there are visitors inside of my class they are noisy and they keep on
talking. They don’t know how to respect. And lastly, some of my students do not follow
my rules inside the class like playing cellphone while we are in the time of class.
