ELEVATOR UPDATE: The redoing of
that former Board Member the elevator interiors of the Campbell
and longtime homeowner and Lafayette buildings will begin in late
Derrick Lloyd passed away November. Only one elevator at a time
in August from his battle will be out of commission for four days

Derrick had been a
homeowner since 2000 and served on the SOUNDWALK: Soundwalk 2013, a
Board in 2003 as the Lafayette Treasurer. He one-night event of sound installations by 40 local and
international sound artists, will take place from 6-10pm

special installation will take place in the Lafayette’s
former Embassy Ballroom located at 528 E. Broadway.
Admission is free. This is slated to be the last year in the
East Village, so if you have never gone, it is highly

NOTABLE NEIGHBOR: Lafayette resident and
artist Thea Robertshaw will have a retrospective
exhibit entitled “Dreams, Memories and Visions.” The
exhibit will span fifty years of her work and will be
displayed from October 5-27 at the Cultural Alliance of
Long Beach (737 Pine Avenue). Events include a reception
for the artist on Sat., Oct. 5 from 6-10pm; an artist’s
lecture on Sat., Oct. 12 from 4-5pm; a prayer arrow
workshop on Sun., Oct. 20 from 1-4pm and a closing party
on Sun., Oct. 27 from 2-4pm.
BOARD MEETING: The monthly regular meeting is
scheduled for Thursday, October 10 at 7pm in the 2nd
floor mezzanine. All homeowners are invited to attend.
The agenda will soon be posted in the lobbies and also
online at thelafayettelb.org!
