• Brighton Beach Memoirs – FMCT. Shows at 7:30 except for 2 pm shows on Sunday. $16

read as part of the Tom McGrath reader’s series. Free and open to the public. A post‐
reading reading takes place at ecce art + yoga at 10 p.m.

asthma. Their shows get a bit, uh, smoky.

• Winter’s Bone (R) – 2010 Sundance Film Festival Best Picture and Best Screenplay. The 
most acclaimed film of 2010 unfolds as a tense, naturalistic thriller. Seventeen‐year‐old 
Ree Dolly confronts the local criminal underworld and the harsh Ozark wilderness in 
order to track down her father, who has put up the family homestead in his bail. 
• Get Low (PG‐13) – Starring Robert Duvall, Bill Murray and Sissy Spacek. A touching 
comedy spun out of equal parts folk tale, fable and real‐life legend about the 
mysterious, 1930’s Tennessee hermit who famously threw his own rollicking funeral 
party… while he was still alive.  I’ve seen this, it is good.
• Midnight Movie: Troll 2 (R) – Fri and Sat, midnight. ’ve never seen it, but it’s rated less 
than two stars on Netflix Watch Instantly, so you know it’s good.

• The 61 for 61 Home Run/Walk, benefitting the Roger Maris Cancer Center, is scheduled 
for Saturday, September 25.  The 2 Mile Run/Walk and the 10K Run begins at 9:00 a.m.
