❏ Design or improve a product, service or system

❏ Plan or organize an event or activity
❏ Learn, present, or demonstrate knowledge of an advanced skill
❏ Other: Artistic Design

OVERVIEW/PROJECT DESCRIPTION FROM LETTER OF INTENT:

I am following the same topic that I wrote about in my pride paper, which is fashion design. However,
instead of writing about the history of fashion design and about other designers, I am designing and
creating a mini-collection to be photographed.

GOALS: Your goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely (S.M.A.R.T.)

Design and construct one avant garde dress made out of unconventional/recycled materials. I’m
working with my fellow student, Sophia Remy, who will be in charge of the makeup for a photoshoot
that we will arrange and execute ourselves.

RESEARCH CONNECTION: How does your project/product connect your research you’ve completed?

They both are literally involved fully in fashion design. I’m using what I learned in the research from my
paper to design something aesthetically pleasing.

BACKGROUND: What do you already know about the topic?

I know about other famous fashion designers, the history of fashion design, and I know how to use
some of the skills needed to make clothes.

TIMELINE: List your timeline below illustrating how you plan to spend half of your hours on the project.
I plan to spend a short amount of time designing the final piece, some time collecting materials, and
most of my time constructing the product that will be photographed.

EVIDENCE: What will you produce to demonstrate that you have successfully completed this project?

I will have the final product on a mannequin and pictures from the photoshoot. I will also have
leftover materials to show what I used to get the final product.
