session.
The participants at the workshop emphasized that awareness on drugs abuse is the
key to eradicating this social evil.
“It is our social responsibility to save our children from this social evil to make
Pakistan a progressive state,” he added.
Dr. Syed Kaleem, Imam Inspector General National Highways and Motorway Police,
said that print and electronic media can play a vital role in spreading awareness
among masses to prevent drug addiction among youth. He further said that NHMP is
striving to reduce the rate of car accidents by educating youth through road safety
awareness programs.
Narcotics Drugs Awareness Session organized with National Highways & Motorway
Police, N-5, Jhelum in SSP’s Office on 03-11-2017 at 10:00 am. The MNC’s panelist
Mr. Akbar Ghani Khan Khattak, Section Officer (Coord-II) and Miss Aneela Shehryar
has participated in the session. An informative presentation was delivered by Ms.
Aneela Shehryar, a certified clinical psychologist, to explain the issues related
to drugabuse.
A drug awareness session held annual gathering as 20th leaders/senior guiders of the
occasion Pakistan Girls Guide Association PGGA’s HQs, H-8, and Islamabad on
05-11-2017 at 10:45 am. The Deputy Secretary (Coord) and Miss Aneela Shehryar
has participated in the session. An informative presentation was delivered by Ms.
Aneela Shehryar, a certified clinical psychologist, to explain the issues related
to drugabuse.

NH&MP on 21-11-2017
Awareness Session against Narcotics /Synthetic drugs abuse with Pakistan Girls
Guides Association (PGGA), KP, and Officers /Officials of sector M-I, NH&MP, Ambar
Swabi, on 21-11, 2017 (Tuesday) at 1000 - 1200 hrs and 1400 - 1600 hrs
respectively. Mr. Akbar Ghani Khan Khattak, Section officer (Coord-II) and Miss Anila
Shehryar, Clinical Psychologist did hold the awareness session.
A radio talk show was organized by UNODC to discuss drug prevention, treatment
and rehabilitation services in Pakistan. The talk shows also covered the need for
interventions to improve the existing drug demand reduction services in line with the
international standards for drug prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. The radio
talk shows were attended by Mr. Akbar Ghani Khan Khattak, Section Officer and Miss
Anila Shehryar, Clinical Psychologist/Presenter on 29 th& 30th November, 2017 at
Mercury Transformation, House 401E, Street 3, E-11/4, Islamabad.
The MNC’s panelist Mr. Akbar Ghani Khan Khattak, Section Officer (Coord-II) and
Miss Aneela Shehryar attended the program titled “Nashay Sey Pak Pakistan” on FM
92.4 dated 14-12-201. The programme would be broadcasted on Thursday from
1400 – 1500 hrs. Two Programmes has already broadcasted on 12-10-2017 and 19-
10-2017.
The students of local schools also participated in the Walk. Besides, Mr. Umar
Farooq Satti, Chairman and Mr. Jamal Satti, Councilor, UC, Murree-III joined the
walk. They also contributed in organization of the walk. The walk was organized
under the Mass Awareness Campaign of MNC against Drug Abuse in order to
sensitize the youth against hazards of Drug addiction. Participants of walk were told
to keep themselves aloof from the use and abuse of Drugs as the youth is the prime
asset of this country. The students also chanted various slogans against drugs abuse
and drug peddlers. They expressed resolve to be proud of Drug Free. Interestingly,
the tourist from various parts of the country also took great interest in the walk. They
not only joined the walk, but also took pictures of the walk to share it in social media.
Moreover, caps and pamphlets on drugs awareness were also distributed amongst
participants of the walk. Mr. Jamal Tayyab, Deputy Secretary and Mr. Akbar Ghani
Khan Khattak, Section Officer, MNC, managed all the matters related to the event.
The walk started from and concluded at the GPO Chowk, Murree.
DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS SESSION IN ISLAMABAD MODEL COLLEGE FOR
GIRLS I-8/4, ISLAMABAD
Awareness session was held with the students and teachers of Islamabad Model
College for Girl I-8/4, Islamabadon 12-01-2018.
The MNC panelist Mr. Akbar Ghani Khan Khattak, Section Officer (Coord-II) and Ms.
Anila Shehryar, clinical psychologist, participated in the session.
Mr. Akbar Ghani Khanntak, Section Officer, MNC said teacher significantly influenced
the students attitude, knowledge and opinions and so, they should play due role in
the fight against drugs. He highlighted the religious aspect of the use of drug and said
islam had banned narcotics. “Drugs take users away from almighty Allah. They are
the mother of all evils as they destroy the mind causes absent mindedness,
eliminates shame, suppresses self-respect, destroys intelligence and instigate to
worlds crimes and forbidden things”, he said.
Mr. Akbar Ghani Khan Khattak, Section Officer, MNC declared the drug abuse a
major threat to the nation’s adolescents warning it is rapidly increasing in the country,
particularly among college and university students. He said the growing use of
narcotics among youths was causing serious social and health issues.
“The using of narcotics can cause brain malfunction in areas critical to learning,
motivation, memory, judgment, and behavior control. Physically, it deteriorates the
mind, brings about sickness, destroys body organs like liver, lungs and stomach”, he
said.
DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS SEMINAR IN MIAN MUHAMMAD NAWAZ SHARIEF
UNIVERSITY, MULTAN
Awareness Seminar was held in Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharief University of
Science and Technology, Multanon 18-01-2018.
Mr. Akbar Ghani Khan Khattak, Section Officer (Coord-II) and Ms. Anila Shehryar,
clinical psychologist, participated in the session. Mr. Akbar Ghani Khan reiterated the
fact that there is a zero tolerance for drug users and MNC has taken concrete steps
against drug use and abuse. He further said, drugs addiction & abuse is more
harmful than chronic-Diseases, it is social cancer and biggest disaster of Pakistan,
which is gripping Pakistani public, youth and young students by neck, at this stage it
is alarming situation for every citizen of Pakistan.
Awareness session was held on the process of Rehabilitation and Reintegration with
drug addicts’ inmates of the Central Prison, Adyala, Rawalpindi on 22-01-2018.

DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS WALK IN COLLABORATION WITH NH&MP
MARGALLA ROAD, ISLAMABAD
Federal Minister for Narcotics Control Lieutenant General (R) Syed Salahuddin
Tirmizi on Saturday said that the increased use of drugs in youth has become
dangerous for society as a whole.
He added that the government was well aware of this issue and was paying due
attention to eradicate this problem.
“We shall have to save our educational institutions from this social evil”, he said,
adding, “We have to prevent drug abuse to save our children; it is our social
responsibility to curb this evil to make Pakistan a progressive and developed state
free of drug addicts.”
The Minister expressed these views while addressing the participants of a walk on
Road Safety and Narcotics Drug Abuse Awareness Programme in the federal capital.
DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS SEMINAR IN NUML UNIVERSITY, ISLAMABAD
Seminar was held on “Drug Abuse and prevention” in National University of Modern
Languages – NUML on 20-02-2018.
Pakistan is struggling with eradicating the misuse of drugs, in part due to the
immense poppy cultivation in Afghanistan, said Federal Secretary, Ministry of
Narcotics Control, Iqbal Mehmood. He further said Pakistan is direly affected by the
smuggling of drugs from Afghanistan. He said the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) is
doing all it can do to control the use of drugs with a limited resources.
