A. Fire Pump Calculations:

Assume Pipe fittings 30% of the total straight friction loss

6" 0.00
4" 9.00
3" 0.00
2.5" 0.00

TDH=Σ of Friction loss st. pipe + Σ Fitting loss + Σ Vertical Loss + NFPA
Pressure

Σ of Friction loss st. pipe: 12.86

Σ Fitting loss: 9.00
Sprinkler 0.00
Minimum Res. P: 65
TDH (psi): 86.86

Sprinkler GPM 0.00

Total GPM: 250.00

Main Fire Pump Calculations:

Bhp = GPM x TDH x SG
1710 x Pump EFF. ; assumed pump efficiency 76%

Bhp: 16.709537
Say: 20

Therefore the size of the fire pumps shall based on the higher pump
capacity and performance curves of the pump's manufacturers.

Jockey Pump Calculations:

Assuming the leakage within the system is 10%. Jockey pump is 10 % of
system design.

Jockey Pump = GPM x TDH x SG

1710 x Pump EFF.
Jockey Pump Bhp: 2
Use: 5

B. Fire Tank Calculations:

Based on the NFPA 14, the required duration shall be at least 30-60 minutes
for the line of defense to extinguish the fire within the area, prior to the
arrival of the Fire Department personnels and fire trucks.

Volume of the tank=Flowrate x Protection Time

Protection time: 60 Minutes
Tank Volume: 15000 Gallons
56775 Liters
System Requirements:
Electric Pump: 20 BHP 250 gpm @ 87 psi
Jockey Pump: 5 Bhp 250 gpm @ 87 psi

Tank Size: 6.19 x 3.95 x 2.5 Meters
