TOPIC: PAST CONTINUOUS.

AIM: By the end of the class the students will be able to know the past continuous
tense in affirmative, negative and interrogative forms and are able to make use of it in real life
situation.

Forms of Past Continuous Tense

I, He, She, It: was + present participle = past continuous

We, You, They: were + present participle = past continuous

Examples:
 She was cleaning the room (Ella estaba limpiando la habitación)
 He was finishing his homework (El estaba terminando su tarea para la casa)
 They were waiting for the bus (Ellos estaban esperando el autobús)
 We were listening to the music (Nosotros estabamos escuchando música)

When can we use the Past Continuous Tense? (Cuando usar?)


 We use the past continuous tense to describe a past action that happened over a period of time.
(Usamos el tiempo pasado continuo para describir una acción que inició en el pasado - no
sabemos si ya finalizó - y que ocurrió durante un periodo de tiempo)
