Architectural Internship Program instituted by virtual

consulting plc. Aims at developing opportunity to expand and produc-
tively use the practical and theoretical knowledge acquired throughout
of education.

During my four months internship in virtual consulting plc. I given

different opportunity to involve with several projects on the aspect of
design. The projects I have been involved with in this 4 month are;
Window and door details project on tele building offices, Office Building
Complex of wegagean bank, resort restaurant design, creating 3D
interior for Addis Ababa University class room, presentation layout on
Atakilti hotel design, apartment design, etc.

Golden Sun plc Hotel
project Description:

This Circular sixteen story Hotel and

Amusement Center complex building rises
majestically above the sky line of the Siwiat
Street.

A tourist destination with appealing external

beauty and spa facility will add a new and
unique hospitality facility to the growing hotel
industry of the city. fig.9

The complex has included, up to 140 rooms
including Suite rooms and two Presidential
Suites, Top class restaurants, swimming pool,
conference facilities, etc. The amusement
Center complex blocks will also bring new life
to that area of the city.

Jigjiga University commissioned our firm

for the design and contract management
conference and graduation facility, the design
of the building is done to reflect the traditional
way of house building and traditional crafting

Internship Experience
2.1: How do you get in to the company???

I been looking for an office that would set

me for amazing internship experience at the
summer before the beginning of school year.
Technically after I finished second semester of
third year. But it really hassle for me to found
office by myself even with my portfolio.

They all say they already accept other student for

internship program or they don’t want an intern
now. Even I send my portfolio to some office on
email but there is no response back.

At the end when I left with zero chance to find

office by myself, I turn to my family members for
help. Finally my uncle found me a place at frim
called virtual consulting plc.

I have the got the chance to meet up with Mr.

Seyfedin at the firm .who work at cot department
for the company. Also he is the one who hire or
fire employee’s that is why I met up with him
first, and He told me “if my work is satisfactory,
they going to give payment for my work”.

I started my internship at virtual consulting plc.

at march 18th,my first day at office was good. I
have got the chance to meet up with staff mem-
bers in the company.

I have been working at architectural section of

the company with two architects , Mr. Wintom
and Mr. Dagim also with one intern student like
me.

My tasks mostly focused on computer drafting,

complete architectural design, presentation
work,detail drawing , illustration and many more.

during my internship period in virtual
consulting plc i have got an opportunity to partici-
pate on nine different projects and every each one
of them needs their own perspective considration
and working techiques.which are:
2.4.1 Project title:Mikelle mixed use building
2.4.1.1 Project description
The building located at Mikelle region, with
floor of G+9. Most part of the project planning
was allready finished.
The building contain both residential and commer-
cial functional spaces on the floors of the building.
2.4.1.2Project tasks
.understanding the project space arrangement,
then dividing some space on the plan for the shop
purpose.naming space on each floors and measur-
ing each space area.

In this project Auto cad is the main software tool,
used to increase the productivity of the design,with

in this project.

obtained from my supervisor instructions and my
own consideration on the issue.

The aim of the project is to undrstanding space
arrangemnt and knowing particular position and
dimension on the wall,which is suitable position for
door and window , based on function and the size
of space.
This kind project particulary created by auto cad
software. so being participated on this project can
help us to improve our software skill such as accu-
racey and speed.
