Power
- Power is the capacity of an individual to influence
the conduct (behavior) of others.
- Power can be seen as evil or unjust.

or without resistance.
- The use of power need not involve coercion, force
or the threat of force.
Politics
- Political sociology studies the relation between
state and society, authority and power, and the
methods used to formulate social policy.
- The art or science of influencing people on a civic,
or individual level, when there are more than 2
people involved.
- Politics has been observed in all human group
interactions, including corporate, academic, and
religious institutions.
Political Systems
- The process for making official government
decisions.
- The set of formal legal institutions that constitute

Nature of Political Science
- The nature of political science is that it is a social
science. This means that it is concerned with the
relationships between human beings and
between human beings and their societies. As a
social science, political science is not a “hard
science.” What this means is that political
science is not a science in which researchers can
conduct experiments to find answers that are true
beyond a doubt. Instead, political scientists have
to do the best they can to try to find answers
about human society by observing human beings
and their societies.
- If by the term science, we mean a systematized
body of knowledge political science can certainly
be called as a science. Political science has been
able develop a systematized body of knowledge
on broad terms like state, government etc. after
due observation, comparison and some sort of
experimentation. It is possible to conduct some
experiments through which political scientist can
benefit.
- Political theory
The entire body of doctrines relating to the origin,
form, behavior, and purposes of the state are
dealt with in the study of political theory.
- Public law
The (a) organization of governments, (b) the
limitations upon government authority, (c) the
powers and duties of governmental offices and
officers, and (d) the obligations of one state to
another are handled in the study of public law.
- Public administration
In the study of public administration, attention is
focused upon the methods and techniques used
in the actual management of state affairs by
executive, legislative, and judicial branches of
government.
