Title:
“Available Renewable
Resources in Pakistan and
their Utilization”

Submitted to:
Dr. Muhammad Asim
Synopsis part 1
With the dawn of the 21st century, all the responsible authorities
are found to be prepared and developed the infrastructure of the
country as per crises among supply and demand according to the
renewable option towards a sustainable society which is the most
favorable, economical and environment-friendly. Unfortunately,
our country is facing the worst reality of energy crises which
corresponds to the drawback in overall Gross Domestic Product
(GDP) because of Energy consumption powered by conventional
resources like Coal, Nuclear power, Crude oil or Petroleum,
Natural gas, Fossils fuel, and these resources are depleting by
the time. So, there is only one most suitable way to search on the
available non-conventional resources which are Solar, Wind, Bio
Mass, Geothermal, Hydroelectric, Tidal & Waves Energy. That’s
the reason we are going to do research on these available viable
Renewable resources to overcome the energy gap between
demand & Supply. The most exciting thing is to decentralize the
available resources by convincing the strategy planner,
policymakers to play an important role to mitigate such crises and
public awareness is also an integral part of a sustainable world.
So, according to a vast field of Renewable Energy System
Technology, we have discussed to do research in three partitions.
That's the reason I have decided to contribute towards Solar and
Wind Powered Technology.

Synopsis part 2
Energy is one of the most important factors that contribute in the
development of any country. In developing countries like our
country i.e. Pakistan, energy crises is one of the major problems
due to which we lag decades behind developed countries in term
of technology. Pakistan is currently relying on fossil fuels to fulfill
about 75% of its energy demand. These fossil fuels are mostly
imported due to which we cannot consider Pakistan independent
regarding energy generation. It can also be considered as one of
the reasons because of which energy is very expensive here.
Pakistan can become independent in energy generation only if we
explore different renewable energy resources and utilize these
resources in a positive way to fulfill our energy demand. Therefore
my team has decided to do research on capabilities of Pakistan
regarding renewable energy utilization. We have divided different
resources among ourselves on the basis of interest to carry on this
research project.
My research will focus on biomass and geothermal energy potential
and its utilization in Pakistan. In the first phase of my research, I
will gather suitable literature regarding these resources. Based on
this literature, I will try to identify the most suitable locations of these
resources in Pakistan. In the final phase of research, I will focus on
the utilization of these energy resources and their environmental
impact.

Synopsis part 3
Pakistan is granted with plenty of natural resources, like
Hydropower, tidal and waves, the geothermal, wind, solar,
Biomass etc. but the water resources, instead of water supply for
irrigation, water resources are also utilized to produce electricity.
National water resources have enormous potential for
hydroelectric generation. Hydropower is the suitable available
option in the recent era of meeting challenges of projected future
energy outcomes and demands of our country as it is sustainable,
reliable, renewable, clean, low cost and indigenous thus can be
the principal source of energy. It is therefore imperative to put all-
out efforts towards the development of the untapped hydropower
potential without further delay.
We also know there is another suitable option which is tidal or
waves energy which is also an alternative in the case of fossil
fuels etc. Accordingly, there is a transition in policy priority i.e.
shifting from development of gas/oil-based thermal power plants
with merits of comparatively shorter construction time and lower
capital investment to hydroelectric and tidal or wave energy
generation.
