SKILLS ASSESSMENT

Training is one of the most pervasive methods for enhancing individual productivity
and for improving job performance in the work environment (Goldstein and Ford
2002; Gupta and Bostrom 2006). The challenge has now been taken cared of by the
academe through its Industry Immersion program for teachers to effectively bring
their real world experiences into classrooms while building in-depthand practical
knowledge of the workplace.

Teachers learn from immersion in a real-world industry experience and gain from
their exposure to these organizations. In return, companies directly benefit from the
skills and knowledge teachers bring to their workforce each training.

The overall outcome of the training experiences can be measured by the extent of
preparation and support which both the program and the host agency are providing
to the faculty.

Industry immersion of a particular person (i.e. student, faculty, admin, etc.) more
specifically in the field of criminology related work like criminal investigation, law
enforcement, rehabilitation and reformation of inmates, forensic investigation, etc.
skills are always the basis of checking the competency.

Competency that transcribe from the experience of the proponent would not be
realize when specific task is not be assigned. The best way to test if the skills are
meet, project must be completed and must be implemented in a way that the
industry requirements are satisfied.

During my first week of duty, the proponent is assigned to consolidate laboratory


results, court appearance summary of the examiners and encoding the reports in
different areas in forensic science. maintaining the weekly Schedule vehicle repair.
The industry have a system for daily task for periodic maintenance repair.
Maintenance system imposed in different area in the automotive services needed by
each vehicle according to the complain of the said driver was the first person that

greatfull to perform and report to the motorpool for cover repair. All of the driver
required to perform BLOWBAG first before the trip to be done.

The proponent always make sure that within that day all Minimum Maintenance
repair are completely solve for it is very need for the company operation. When a
repair need maximum Maintenance repair set weekly and within that week the
servicing must be done. Before servicing happened the motorpool department make
sure that the availability of parts is there if not the incharge will provide and purchase
the parts.

Checking the affiliated/branches service vehicle is done only if the week schedule is
for the name brances indicated and the vehicle data is correct. the company are
always making sure that the service vehicle in each department must
functioning/operate well. The purpose of this is to make sure the all department and
brances must operate well and responds the call of emergency especially in the field
area maintenance. The proponent of the program runs through these activities. The
learning’s on the part of the activity are the following;
 B-L-O-W-B-A-G (Brake,lights, oil, water, battery, air and gas)
 Periodic Maintenance service for under body system
 Periodic Maintenance service for the engine operation
 Client satisfaction and Safety always observed.

The solutions that the proponent has done make it more helpful in the
implementation of the company in some affiliated/brances that called within the time
of the program. with identification and the solutions that made to less trouble
anytime and anywhere.

The skill and knowledge of the proponents was assessed through the performance
desplay and accomplistment. The admin of the company made a realization to the
proponents with the assessment of the company that highly satisfied marked is really
the right observation.
