CONCLUSION

In conclusion prior to the two day selling event, before we

conducted this event, we first planned the possible goods that
we will sell and we came up with the idea of selling foods like
fried oreo, graham balls, pastillas, and cupcakes but we could
not do some of these because the management didn’t allow us to
use electric stove because of the reason that there could be
accidents that might occur during the activity.

It was fun designing our own cupcakes because we showed our

creativity not only as a student but also as an economist. Words
could not describe the mixed emotions that I felt once I put
those colourful icings on top of it while sprinkling it with my
desired toppings like marshmallow or candy glitters. The good
thing about this kind of group activity is that you see with
your own naked eyes the effort and the eagerness of one another
to earn and to maximize the profit that they would get right
after the event. Also, there are social activities that happened
during the selling event. Not only you exercise your business-
handling skills but also you develop this kind of mutual
interaction among your customers which are mostly students and
what’s more, they are our schoolmates! So we tried our best to
welcome them wholeheartedly. There are some who personally
market their goods while some are good with persuading the
customers around them to try and see for themselves the quality
of good that they have to offer.

After conducting our section’s meeting for the final

product, the committee decided to sell cupcakes because it is
more efficient and easy to put up. During the first day, we have
gathered 16000 pesos which we will use for the #eKo seminar for
ALS in Cabuyao. At first, we thought that the selling event was
cancelled because there are no booths at the ETY building lobby
as we go upstairs, we saw our group mates assigned with the
aesthetic aspect of the booth and we agreed to assist them make
the decoration for our booth. I thought that maybe the
decoration would be a mess since the plan is not that perceived
by the members and the budget constrains us from moving and
performing our designated jobs especially when it comes to
buying of the decoration that will be used to make the booth
presentable. But as people put effort and cooperation into their
mantras, we then realized our own objectives as participants of
the event that is, to work as a team with overwhelming
determination that comes from the undying spark of hope that
maybe, we could do something for other people even if it’s just
a pinch of what we are receiving right now.

While in the #eKo seminar for ALS in Cabuyao, the other

section conducted different topics in recycling packs of juice
which can provide them their source of income. In the packs of
juice they can make them into bags or into other useful
apparels. These kind of items not only make you eco-friendly but
creative as well because the materials that you are using came
from the wrappers at which people easily discard right after
they use it and there are tons of it in the collection of
trashes. This tells us that being a wise economist doesn’t
really rely on the things that are new. We, as aspiring
scientists of our society, will try to come up with renewable
sources of income that not only satisfies the thirst for profit
but also maintains the resource of the raw materials. Because
without considering the welfare of the resources, they may go
extinct which will make the situation much worse by putting us
in a condition where shortage and scarcity of input materials
hinders the ability of an economy to prosper.

We therefore conclude that being an economist is a hard task but

it will make you to be a wise buyer and seller. To be able to
have a big income you must be ready to give up something like
what Miss Gannaban said before she sell her product she provides
free taste for her buyer for them to know that the product is
actually good and worth buying. We have applied all the topics
we have learned in our lessons in economic like in how to
balance the supply and demand of goods. In the even we also
learned on how to think like an economist especially on the
preference of the buyers and affordability of our product.
