EDUCAUSE - Next Generation Digital Learning Environment (NGDLE)

Welcome to my booth, welcome to Educause!

Educause, what is Educause? Educause always do an annual conference. And by the way Educause helps
you elevate the impact of IT using education. It is nonprofit association and largest community of
technology, academic, industry and campus leaders advncing higher education through the use of IT.
Educause provides community a higher education by the use of technology and this technology, will helps
the community to uplift the learning of students.

Gregory Dobbin is avery well-known senior researcher and writer of the Educause. And one of his
concepts related to IT for education is none other then, the NGDLE. The question is, what is NGDLE?

In able to us.to understand, let see the definition of this word. Let's try to see what is the NGDLE stands
for. NGDLE stands for Next Generation Digital Learning Environment. The question is, what is the Next
Generation Digital Learning Environment? Student is the center of the NGDLE, it is actually educational
ecosystem that supports a new trends of learning by the use of technology. But the question is, what do
you think is the development of this technology for the past years? Let us see.

Since 1900s and 2000s, people are now using computers to integrate in education. Why? To update the
learning. Where we have been? Before computers as our instructional technology. Instructional
technology refers to use in educating students, to update and mke a higher education with the use of
those technologies. Let's update technology! Where we are now? With the use of technology, let us see,
where we are now. We have here, the LMS. What is LMS? LMS is the Learning Management System that
we are using to collaborate the use of technology for education. We have the blended learming and open
online learning. It is now we are using to collaborating and integrating to our lessons and of course to
make a higher education. It is actually a centralized figure to make the learning more efficient by the use
of technology and its now the privilege of our people right now. So, where we are heading? NGDLE today
is now providing as a better version of learning, of course with the integration of technology. For example,
we have a more updated online learning, artificial intelligence and more privilege blended learming to our
students. It is now a promotion to all the academic institutions to make technology as our main force to
make education more higher nd elevate the learning of our students. Welcome to the NGDLE!

There is actually a particular challenges that we may face regarding the NGDLE. The question is, what do
you think are those challenges? Here are the following challenges that te NGDLE may face in the future.
First, Accessibilty, Second, Funding and the third one, the Openness. What are the following all about?
Accessibility refers to the access of the students or any educational institutions to the use of computers
and technological materials such as internet and the like. Funding and support, support from whom? From
the government, we need the government support regarding the proper education of our "product". And
of course, to high and uplift the use of this technologies. We need a money, we need it. We need the
material to make technology more collaborative in the learning of students. And the last challenge is none
other than, the Openness. We cannot do anything if we are very lack in accepting technology as part of
our education. If some of the people or any instittutions do not accept it, I think that could be a big
problem to our society. If we want our society to be update, let's accept NGDLE to support a higher
