First of all, let's give thanks to God Almighty so that all
things can go well. On this auspicious occasion, I will
discuss "What is technology like in Education”. And also
I thank Ms. Angela Asri Purnamasari, S.Pd., M.Pd as a
lecturer who has teaching.

In this paper, I discuss "What is Technology like in

Education" and material with a relationship between
Technology and Education.

INTRODUCTION
but before getting into learning, can you define, what is
meant by technology?
Technology is the result of the growth of knowledge in
the field of Education. Therefore, it is appropriate that
learning uses technology to support the application of
education. Digital technology is currently being used in
learning as a facility to support education, either as data
equipment or educational equipment.

Along with global technological advances, it has

affected all aspects of economic, political, cultural,
artistic and especially learning life. Can not avoid
Technological Progress in this life, because
technological progress goes hand in hand with the
advancement of science. During this time the growing
technology has penetrated digital sessions.

With the development of science and technology in the

current education sector, it is certain that there is a distance
learning system or by using internet media that can connect
tutors with students online.
So what we discussed about technology looks pretty good,
right? but what is technology like in education?

DISCUSSION

Technology in Education is a systematic method for planning,

using and evaluating teaching and learning activities taking
into account technical and human resources and their
interactions, to achieve an effective form of Education.

Systemic processes that assist learning problems that arise.

Educational technology is not only about computers or other
devices but about the processes and systems that lead to the
desired results. From the several points stated above, it can
be concluded that educational technology is a tool used to
advance education.

MEDIA LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES

as we know that technology is very useful for developing
education. but what are the technological means or media
that we can use for education? anybody know? so here is the
complete information.
1. Online Class (E-Learning)
This kind of media can perform anywhere and anytime in the
network. Distance learning is a learning process that involves
the use of the internet and communication tools by tutors
and students.

There are two types of E-Learning, namely electronic-based

and web-based. Electronics-based education requires
teaching that utilizes information and communication
technology, such as watching videos, OHPs, laptops,
projectors, films, and LCDs. Internet-based learning is
described as learning that can be done anytime and
anywhere using the internet.

Online classes strongly encourage collaboration and

engagement and are a motivating tool for students. E-
Learning is more inclined towards the use of technology via
the internet which can deliver a range of solutions to
enhance knowledge and skills. E-Learning learning uses
applications including:

1. Moodle, Modular Object Oriented Dynamic Learning

Environment. Moodle is a software package that can be used
for tutoring, training, and internet-based education.
2. Zoom Meeting, is an application that can support success
in learning or business. Zoom Meeting can display videos,
images, animations, slides, and others.
3. Google Classroom, an online learning application. Its main
purpose is to share files between tutors and students.

During face-to-face learning, supervisors are now not only

able to provide book-based material, but also present via an
LCD projector powered by a computer or laptop. Learning
technology media used in face-to-face learning include:

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE IMPACTS

POSITIVE IMPACT
Advances and the application of technology also provide
benefits to the field of education, including:
a) There is a new learning method that facilitates the
teaching and learning process for supervisors and students.
b) The learning process does not have to be face-to-face.
c) The need for educational facilities can be met quickly,

NEGATIVE IMPACT
In addition to the positive influence of technological
developments, there are also negative influences of
technology in education, including:
a) The occurrence of plagiarism.
b) Criminal acts (Cyber Crime).
c) Instilling apathy in every individual, be it students /
students / teachers / lecturers.
d) Make students and even teachers addicted to using
technology.
CLOSING

Science and technology continues to develop, even today it is

increasing rapidly. Technology in education is a system used
to support learning in order to produce the desired target.
Indonesian technology implementation states that
technology can be used as a learning intermediary,
management tool, and learning resource.

The development of science and technology has a positive

influence on increasing openness and the spread of
knowledge across space and time on a global scale. There are
also negative influences, namely changes that occur in
people’s lives. Against this situation, the role of education is
very important to increase positive influence and improve
negative influence.
Technology is one of the most effective media in learning
activities. However, its use must be consistent with learning
objectives, because misuse often occurs in the use of this
technology.
