Weekly Journal

Regular evaluation updates are required with every unit. Please remember to
take photos and get behind the scenes footage as you film. You might find it
easier if you note down a record of what you did each day in a diary form.

Please use the following guidance to help you with each week.

Week 1 This week you worked on your idea generation and

topic research
What have you been asked to To make a factual programme, animation and short
do? film on a topic of our choice.

What are you making your 3 In our group we all came up with one idea each,
productions on and why have that’s three ideas. One was on mental health, another
you chosen this topic? was about getting rid of homework but we decided
to go with how the education system deals with
students with long-term illnesses who are often absent
from school. We chose this because it was the most
developed idea. The factual programme is
interviewing an expert in that area (nurse), the
animation conveys how we think the education
system deals with these students and their motivation
for why they do what they do, and finally, the short
film follows someone’s life who is dealing with this.

What research have you We have completed secondary research, reading up

wellbeing of the child, even going as far as kicking

their reputation due students who can't attend
school regularly falling behind and not doing as
well as other students.
