Crime

Crime is any act in which law is broken. The law is written by the state. Therefore,
committing a crime does not only violate the norms but also the law. There are
different types of crimes and the punishments are also according to the severity of
the crimes. For example in crimes like murder and rape there is usually capital
punishment or life imprisonment but in crimes like smoking weed and drinking
alcohol there is not much severity in punishment and in some countries these are not
even considered as crime. But murder and rape are considered as severe crimes
globally. The control body for such crimes is police and court.
Deviance
Deviance is an act in which actions of an individual or individuals violate the
established norms, traditions, code or moral values. These norms are often made by
the culture, religion and there is no formal punishment for this type of deviant or
non-conformist behaviour. One who commits this act is only looked down by the
society and the behaviour of the society towards such person will be rude and
different as would be in normal circumstances.

considered as stigmas because people are very sensitive regarding the dress and the
physical appearance of the women both religiously and culturally.
