1. Pie Charts because they are mostly used when dealing with grouped data or data
which is categorized. These charts are the ones preferred during presentations and
are a common choice of data presentation method in offices, schools and other
organizations (lawyers). These charts break the whole data into parts to make
even the most complex data simpler to grasp. Each part of the pie represents a
subcategory of the whole data. They help show the proportion and percentage of
each category that constitutes the data, as each slice is proportional to the quantity
of data it represents. So, it's easy to compare between the deceased passengers and
the survived passengers.

3. In both cases, the graphs are accurate but misleading. The first graph ignores other
variables and didn’t show how much is the difference between the two groups
(deceased and survivors’ passengers). While the other graph gives an irrelevant
relationship and it’s missing other variables such as how many were the deceased
passengers. These misleading graphs could manipulate the viewer’s perception by
making an irrelevant relationship by showing a specific data and ignoring/hiding
the others. Also, choosing the type of graph plays a major role, for example, for
the pie graph we are comparing between two categories of passengers and making
sure to hide the numbers so the viewer won’t have a strong idea about it by
showing the percentages of each we are making things much bigger, so we can
make the families/judgers reconsider the case. Usually, the numbers don’t let the
viewer visualise the differences, but the percentages do. In the other graph, the
three different categories of survivors were shown with numbers on a big scale
(hundreds) to support the cruise line and manipulates the viewer’s perception
despite showing the fact that the deceased passengers were more than the double
of the survivors.
