Weekend HW: Grade 7- Equations of Horizontal and Vertical

Lines

Task 1: Solve these equations and plot it graphically

i) 3( 2x-4) = 5x – (12-x)
𝑥−6 2𝑥−1 𝑥−1
ii) − =
5 10 2
𝑦 𝑦+2
iii) + = -1
8 2
2𝑦−1 5𝑥−6
iv) - = -2
3 6
Interpret the graphs for each of the above equations
Task 2:
a-Plot the graphs of x=0 and y=0. Interpret the graphs
b-What do you think is the general ‘form’ of the
equations horizontal and vertical lines
c- What makes you say that -What do you understand
by the word inclination? Do you think the graphs of
horizontal and vertical lines share an inclination with
the x axis?
Note: The HW needs to be done on separate sheets
and submitted on Monday, without fail
