I – Reading
I spend an hour and a half on school days hanging out with my Instagram and Fortnite
10 friends; maybe three times that at weekends. It’s actually very practical if you forget what
that day’s homework is. Unfortunately, one of my best friends doesn’t have Instagram or
WhatsApp. But it’s OK; we talk on our PlayStations.
Michael Kirk, age 14
I access social media on my phone. I go on social sites every day in my free time. I love
15 being around and talking to people. I don’t think I’d be able to live without my phone — I’m
always on it because I keep in contact with people I’m close to. I’m a social butterfly, and it’s
a big part of my life. Social media means a lot to me. I like to show others things I like to do
or eat. It’s interesting, and when I’m having a bad day it helps me a lot. Sometimes it’s
inspiring because I see motivational posts that make me want to go for my dreams. Social
20 media also helps you meet people around the world, of different races, cultures and interests.
It can help you meet people who share your interest in the same hobbies and jobs.
Brianna Ferrell, age 16
