A preprinted application form requires information that will not be on your resume.
Below, you will create an application data sheet. When you fill out multiple job
applications, this will allow you to easily copy and paste the information from this
application data sheet and your plain-text resume.
PART A: Use this Career Action Worksheet to collect commonly requested information.
The textbook companion site has a form for recording the information.
Remember: A completed employment form is an official document, and you can be
denied employment or fired if you aren’t truthful about the information you supply,
including details about previous jobs. Your signature indicates that the information is
complete and accurate.

Chapter 7: Write Job Applications
Reach out to these references with an email or phone call and ask if they would agree to
be a reference as you continue your job search. This conversation is a good time to bring
them up to date on what you’re doing and catch up on their activities as well.
Also, be thinking about who may be willing to write a letter of recommendation for you.
When you are asking if someone will be a reference for you, consider asking if they
would be willing to write a letter of recommendation on your behalf.
