SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

Based on my understanding to the seminar we attended, Solid waste

management is the process of collecting and treating solid wastes. It is very
important to practice solid waste management in our community and in our
society to help to protect our environment. Based on the talk or seminar, I learn
many things about trash and how to dispose it. We can easily determine if a thing
is already a trash if we don’t use it anymore. There are many kinds of waste such
as kitchen waste, garden waste, animal waste and human waste for
biodegradable and non-biodegradable like cans, plastics, bottles and etc. The
3R’s of solid waste management are Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Many
establishment practices this kind of managing ways because it is very helpful to
segment waste properly and people should be responsible in segmenting their
trash or waste. There are some helpful tips and advice given on how to treat
wastes.

As a student the simple way to contribute to help our environment is to be

responsible on our waste or trash. We need to practice to manage our waste and
stop using plastics to save our environment.

CHAPTER 2

TAMARAW CONSERVATION

Base on the talk or seminar we attended it’s all about the Tamaraw or the
Mindoro dwarf buffalo is only found in the land of Mindoro. The current count of
Tamaraw is 473 and they are endangered buffalo species. We need to save the
tamaraws to protect their species. There are volunteers who helped our
Tamaraws in Mindoro. As a student of Far Eastern University and as a Tam
student we stand brave as a tamaraw and we should be proud and brave as
tamaraw. I hope that tamaraw will be healthier and braver. It will be our pride to
represent the tamaraws and help to tamaraws.

CHAPTER 3

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT

Basic life support (BLS) is a level of medical care which is used for victims
of life-threatening illnesses or injuries until they can be given full medical care at
a hospital. Base on the training or seminar we attended it was full of learnings
and experience. The instructors shared their knowledge about Basic Life Support
such as doing Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, rescuing, tourniquet and other
things that covers basic life support. They teach us how to respond and act like
as a first aider. I learned many things about Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation the
step by step process on how to do it properly. It was tiring but fun to experience
how to rescue people and to know the proper rescuing. I learned how to apply
tourniquet to the person has an injury. At the end of the seminar they experience
us like we were at a disaster and someone acts like a victim on the earthquake
and some act as first aiders and rescuers. So I belong to the rescuers, it was an
experience to act as a rescuer it was tiring but there’s a lesson to be learned.

The seminar was full of learnings and experience to experience the Basic
Life support. It will help a lot to help people in case but I hope it will not to happen
in the future nor today. I hope it will serve as a knowledge only that will be kept
and I hope it will remain as a knowledge that I learned and be shared but not to
apply in any dangers.
