Knee Joint Mobilization
Tibiofemoral Anterior Glide Mobilization: a posteriorly directed force through mobilizing hand
Purpose: increase extension while the stabilizing hand applies gentle distal traction
Position: patient is prone with the knee at the edge of the table; Patellofemoral Joint Mobilization
mobilizing hand is just distal to knee joint and stabilizing hand Purpose: increased general patellar mobility; and superior glide
supports anterior ankle for increased extension, inferior glide for increased flexion
Mobilization: anteriorly directed force downward through Position: supine with knee supported by table, wedge, or towel
mobilizing hand while stabilizing hand applies gentle distal roll; mobilizing thumb and index finger placed along patellar
traction border oriented to direction of mobilization
Tibiofemoral Posterior Glide Mobilization: apply a medially, laterally, superiorly, or inferiorly
