Mechanics and Criteria for BigSayWit (Bigkas-Sayaw-Awit)

1) The BigSayWit contest is open to all participants of the Youth


Retreat. Only those officially registered are allowed to join.
2) Each team should be represented and as much as possible,
members of each team should participate in the BigSayWit contest.
3) Teams can create their own poems/stories/scripts or use published
ones for the Bigkas as long as it is related to the theme. Teams can
only use Christian songs for the Awit and Sayaw. They can opt to
make their own song given that it is also related to the theme. Steps
for the Sayaw could be interpretative or contemporary as long as it
wholesome.
4) Teams can choose to use props or costumes. If costumes will be
used, it should be modest. Props that may possible cause harm or
injury are discouraged.
5) Each team is given maximum of 7 minutes (including entrance and
exit) to perform their BigSayWit presentation. Points will be deducted
from the team’s score if they exceed the time limit.

6) The BigSayWit presentation of each team will be judged with the
following criteria:
a. Relevance to the theme – 25%
b. Projection (clarity of words/message/expression) – 25%
c. Presentation (harmony of voices, rhythm in dancing) – 25%
d. Creativity and originality – 10%
e. Technical components (music, props/costumes) – 10%
f. Audience impact – 5%
