Directions:

Log onto the computer and open Google Chrome. Go onto the website

http://scenicandlighting.com/academic/light-labs-and-more/ and use this worksheet to complete

the following tasks.

LIGHT LAB FOR DANCE: Click on the section labeled Light Lab for Dance (you can click on

the picture or the section heading).

1: What are your initial thoughts about the design initially displayed?

2: Describe what happens what happens when you adjust the following in any way:

Cyclorama (Light-Dark): Toplight (Color):

Cyclorama (Color): High Side SL Gobos:

Sidelight (Light-Dark): High Side SR Gobos:

Sidelight (Color): Footlights:

Toplight (Light-Dark): Any of the specials:

3: Using all three directions, gobos, and any colors you want, create a design that depicts all of

these words: Magnificent, Intense, and Royal. Raise your hand when completed.
GOBO LAB: Press on the three lines/menu option in the upper right-hand corner and press OK

to take you back to the main menu. Click on where it says Gobo Lab or on the picture for that

section.

1: What mood do you get when you only light someone from behind? Above? Side? Front?

2: What happens when you select a different gobo for each light fixture and have them all set to

the brightest setting at the same time? What about when you choose the same gobo for all lights?

3: Using the gobos create a design that portrays these three words: Earthy, Decay, and Vast.

the drama machine from the main menu to generate a concept for a design for any of the labs

you’d like.
