SIDE STAND RETRIEVER SYSTEM FOR TWO WHEELER

SYNOPSIS

This is a necessity to prevent accidents on roads due to non-lifting of side stand. In

this project whenever the key is ON condition automatically the side stand in goes
upward and vice versa. The scope of this project is to prevent the accident due to non-
lifting of side stand.

INTRODUCTION

Mechanical projects also have drawbacks like wear out of gears, making injuries
in legs while actuating gears. Major drawback is it cannot use in all type of two-wheelers.
So, to overcome these drawbacks “Sprocket Side Stand Retrieve System” is designed
which can be attached in all type of two-wheelers (mopeds, geared, non-geared, hand
geared bikes). Sprocket-side stand retrieve system is designed using the working
principle of two-wheeler according to which the power is generated in the engine and it
transmits power to the pinion and makes it to rotate. The pinion transmits power to the
rear wheel pinion and makes the vehicle to move. This system works by getting power
from chain drive.
 WORKING PRINCIPLE

In Automatic side stand retrieve system, the side stand automatically gets retrieved
if the rider forgets to lift the side stand while moving the bike. Its working is based on the
working principle of the two-wheelers. In motor bike power is transmitted from engine’s
pinion to the rear wheel i.e. (rotary motion of the pinion makes the linear motion of the
chain. That linear motion of the chain is absorbed by rear wheel’s sprocket and converted
into rotary motion).

That rotary motion of the rear wheel makes the bikes to move. Based on this side
stand retrieve system is designed. If Sprocket is kept between the chain drive, it make the
sprocket to rotate. The working of this system is based on the sprocket. It gains the power
from the chain and make specially designed component (lifting lever) to rotate. This
rotation incites engaged pushing lever to push the side stand to retrieve. When chain
rotates in anti-clockwise direction the inciter assembly’s sprocket absorbs the power and
rotates in clockwise direction.

ADVANTAGES

 It requires simple maintenance cares

 The moving parts of this system are cooled by the oil itself used. Thus this project
does not require any cooling arrangements.

 The loaded vehicles can be standing easily.

 Checking and cleaning are easy, because of the main parts are screwed.

 Handling is easy.

 Manual power not required

 Repairing is easy.

 Replacement of parts is easy.

 Maximum height up to 1.5 feet can be reached.

DISADVANTAGES:

 Initial cost is high.

 High maintenance cost.

APPLICATIONS:

 It is very much useful for vehicle Owners & Auto-garages. This automatic
hydraulic stand is used for standing the vehicles.

 Thus it can be useful for the all types of two wheelers.
