Activity Activity Description

 The teacher comes to the classroom and asks the students how they
are. After, greeting, teacher asks “What do you see?” by showing
the table on the smart board.
 Students respond and predict. The teacher then tells them to pay
Introduction
attention to these patterns today because they will have to use them
(5 minutes) in the sentence afterwards.
 Then the teacher says, "Now I will say four things about myself.
Appendix-1 But one of them is wrong. Can you tell me which one is wrong?"
The purpose of this is to give sample sentences after showing
The table
patterns and to make it more fun.
 Then the teacher gives four examples by using some of the patterns
"I am crazy about, love, like / enjoy, don't mind, don't like, can't
stand, hate".

 The teacher asks the students "Do you like watching movies?"
After receiving an answer, she asks, "Did you watch or heard of
Charlie's Chocolate Factory?"
 Then, the teacher shows pictures of important characters in the
film and gives brief information about the film, as well as shows
Warm-up Activity picture of golden ticket in the film.
 Teacher says "Now I will show you a video. The video is about
(10 Minute)
the kids in the movie. Let's watch it carefully."
Appendix-2  After watching the video, the teacher may ask the students some
questions about the video, for example, "Do you like the video?
Appendix-3
What do you think children love or hate?" etc.

Activity Purpose: The aim of this activity is to get the attention of the
students and enter the subject. The reason why I chose Charlie's
Chocolate Factory is that it is effective for the general culture of the
students, and the film gives very good messages from each child. For
example, there are messages such as how bad it is to humiliate people or
even if one suffers from financial difficulties, he will be very happy to
be a good person. The reason I make them watch videos is to remind
students who don't watch or remember the film. Thus, the readings I give
in the main activity will be more effective in their minds.

 The teacher gives the students a paper with 5 paragraphs and

questions.
 In each of these paragraphs, the students learn better what the
children in the film like and what they don't like and start
reading.
Main Activity  After reading, students are expected to answer three classical
questions by writing.
(15 Minutes)  After they write, the teacher asks the students to tell them their
answers.
Appendix-4
Activity Purpose: The aim of this activity is to improve students'
reading skills and to gain some values while doing this, for example, to
be a good friend, not to complain and to see the patterns that need to be
taught in the sentence. In addition, after reading the paragraphs, students
will be able to critically look at the questions and use the desired patterns
in sentences.

 The teacher distributes to the students a worksheet with "Likes

and Dislikes Board Game".
 In this game there are some sentences in the boxes, such as your
favourite sport, your favourite actor or actress, your favourite
food etc. And in these boxes there will be questions related to the
subject mentioned in the previous paragraphs in the main
activity.
Follow-up Activity  After the teacher distributes these worksheets, she asks the
students to do it with their friends sitting next to them.
(10 Minutes)  The teacher separates the pairs A and B for clarity.
Appendix-5  Student A asks the questions in the boxes and his / her friend
answers and can write down the answers of his / her friend next
to the boxes.
 When they reach the end of the boxes, student A starts to answer
the questions. The student who answered the questions the
previous time asks questions to his/her friend and takes notes of
his/her friend's answers.
 After the students answer, the teacher asks the students to tell
their friends.
 For example, the teacher says, "Who wants to say your friend's
favourite actor or actress?" and a student may answer like "He or
she loves ..."
 And the teacher listens to the students' answers.

Activity purpose: My primary goal in this activity is to ensure that
students learn with fun. Afterwards, students will be able to ask
questions to their friends and answer them using the necessary patterns.
After answering, students will be able to take notes of their friends'
answers and thus improve their speaking and listening skills. At the end,
the teacher asks the students' answers to their friends to measure whether
the students spoke to each other and listened to each other carefully.

 The assignment was associated with Charlie's Chocolate Factory,

which they discussed during the event.
 As in the film, five children want to find gold tickets and can
enter the factory.
Homework  There is news from the owner of the factory on the worksheets
handed out by the teacher.
Appendix-6  The owner of the factory says he wants another 6th child who
can come to his factory. But he asks them to introduce
themselves by writing something they love, dislike or hate.
 Then the teacher tells the students that she will send their letters
and she is very curious about who will be the owner of the
golden ticket.

Homework Purpose: The aim of this assignment is to improve students'

writing skills by associating them with previous activities. In this way,
the teacher can control the students' writing very comfortably and give
feedback. Other than that, the teacher can see whether students have
learned the subject well or not.
