Response to writing Responses include in-depth
prompt discussion of each of the essential
questions presented and student
provided examples from the text
and properly cites them. Student
also uses personal example where
appropriate.
Appearance and Assignments are organized and in
presentation of all order. Work is neatly written or
writing assignments typed.
Working and sharing Helps the group stay on task, is
with others engaged and encourages group
members; always does the
assigned work without
prompting,
Student demonstrated an acceptable
level of understanding of the text
and makes some application to real
life.
Student uses some words and
phrases that support the answers.
Responses show some depth and
most of the essential questions are
answered with some supporting
details/information from the text.
Assignments are organized and
appear neat and easy to read,
Willingly participates in group
work; usually does the assigned
work and rarely needs
prompting/encouragement
