SIMULATION
To create new design

2. Place Components : To Place Components click on Place/Components. On the Select
Component Window click on Group to select the components needed for the circuit.
Click OK to place the component on the schematic.
Examples of selecting resistors and Capacitor and few other components are shown in
below figures.

3. Rotate Components: To rotate the components right click on the Resistor to flip the
component on 90 Clockwise (Ctrl +R) and 90 Counter Clockwise (Ctrl+Shift+R).

4. Place Wire/Connect Components: To connect resistors click on Place/Wire drag and
place the wire. Components can also be connected by clicking the mouse over the
terminal edge of one component and dragging to the edge of another component.

5. Change Component Values To change component values double click on the
component this brings up a window that display the properties of the component.

6. Simulation: To simulate the completed circuit Click on Simulate/Run or F5. This
feature can also be accessed from the toolbar as shown in the Figure 10 below

Procedure:
I) Input characteristics
1. Rigup the circuit
2. Go to Simulate, click on Analysis and simulation, then click on DC sweep.
3. Set the Analysis parameter by source 1 as Vbe and source 2 as Vce
4. Vbe start value 0V stop value is 10V with increment of 0.5V
5. Vce start value 0V stop value is 25V with increment of 5V
6. click on save button.

7. Go to output option select base current Ib then click on save button.

8. See the input characteristics by clicking on Run button

II) Output characteristics
1. Rig up the circuit .
2. Go to Simulate, click on Analysis and simulation, then click on DC sweep.
3. Set the Analysis parameter by source 1 as Vce and source 2 as Vbe
4. Vce start value 0V stop value is 30V with increment of 1V
5. Vbe start value 1V stop value is 2V with increment of 0.2V
6. Click on save button.

Procedure:
I) Drain characteristics
1. Rig up the circuit according above procedure
2. Go to Simulate, click on Analysis and simulation, then click on DC sweep.
3. Set the Analysis parameter by source 1 as Vds and source 2 as Vgs
4. Vds start value 0V stop value is 50V with increment of 1V
5. Vgs start value -1 V stop value is 1V with increment of 0.5V
6. click on save button.

II) Transfer characteristics
1. Rig up the circuit according above procedure
2. Go to Simulate, click on Analysis and simulation, then click on DC sweep.
3. Set the Analysis parameter by source 1 as Vgs don’t select source 2
4. Vgs start value -1 V stop value is 1V with increment of 0.5V
5. click on save button.

2. Go to Simulate, click on Analysis and simulation, then click on DC sweep.

5. Vgs start value 0 V stop value is 5V with increment of 1V

Procedure:
1. Rigup the circuit
2. Connect Channel 1 of CRO probe across the load(100Ω) and channel 2 across the
gate of the SCR.
3. Vary the firing angle by varying the 50 KΩ pot and observe the load waveform.
