completed her Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from University of Colorado in
1988.Kalpana was responsible for the research and development of aerodynamic
techniques at NASA. She became an astronaut and the first woman of Indian origin
to go to space in 1998.She believed that nothing is impossible to attain.

A standard unit used to express the size or amount of something is
known as measurement.

Measurement of length

Units of length
1. smallest unit of length – millimetre (mm) 1 cm = 10 mm

2. smaller unit of length – centimetre (cm) 1 m = 100 cm

3. standard unit of length – metre (m) 1 km = 1000m

4. largest unit of length – kilometre (km)

With the help of metre rod, measuring tape and metre scale, we
measure lengths.
