PROTECT YOURSELF FROM GETTING CHEATED BY FAKE JOB

CONSULTANTS
Nowadays, there are many cases of job candidates being cheated by unscrupulous people
pretending to be job consultants and recruiters.

Please see some cases below:

Case 1:
Recently, a job seeker approached us to verify an offer letter he had received.

On further queries, he revealed the following:

1. He had got offer letter without even an interview.

2. To make it appear genuine, they asked him to do medical test at a particular clinic which
they had a tie-up with.
In this case he had unfortunately already lost Rs 6000 as 'medical test' charges before calling
us for advise.

When we found the company website and email via Google search, and wrote directly to the
company, the reply we got clearly said: It appears fraudulent.

Case 2:
We were approached for help from a gentleman who had already lost a HUGE amount of money to
different fake consultants.
For certain reasons, he was desperate to get a job abroad, and in his desperation had failed to do
proper checks on the consultants before paying.
To arrange for money to pay the consultants he used up all his savings, swiped his credit card and
even took personal loans from banks.
In all, he got cheated of about Rs 8 Lakhs (over US $ 10,000)!!!

SOME SIMPLE STEPS TO VERIFY
1. Check if the recruitment agent is a registered recruiter in your country.
2. In India, the steps to check if a recruiter is registered with Govt of India are as below:
1. Go to Govt website: https://emigrate.gov.in/ext/raList.action
2. Download the report in pdf format.

3. Check if the consultant name is listed there or not.

4. If the consultant’s name is not listed, please do not entertain them.

3. Similarly, you can check on the Government websites of Nepal and Sri Lanka on the links
given below:

4. Check for Medical, Accidental and Life insurance covers

1. As per Govt of India rules, all Indian workers must be provided Medical, Accidental
and Life insurance covers.

5. Verify the email id:

1. Reputed company email ids will NEVER be Gmail or Outlook.
2. They will always have their own domain name. For example:

 6. Verify the recruitment process:
1. Genuine company will never offer a job without an interview and only on a resume.
If they claim to offer a job without interview, it is 100% fake.
7. Verify directly from the company:
1. Google and find out the real website of the company
2. Find their email id and phone number.
3. Email your offer letter and/or phone them directly and ask them to verify.
4. Unless you get verification directly from company, DO NOT pay any money or share
any personal/financial details.

MAKE SURE YOU THOROUGH CHECK IF CONSULTANT IS ASKING FOR MONEY OR EVEN ASKING YOU
TO SUBMIT PERSONAL DETAILS LIKE BANK DETAILS, AADHAAR, PASSPORT ETC.

AVOID BEING CHEATED OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!

HOW TO REPORT FAKE CONSULTANTS

Unfortunately, there are cases where you might already have paid the consultants and they turned
out to be fake….they have not arranged for your interviews, or are not responding to your
calls/email, or are not refunding your money.
