a) What is Occupational Health & Safety Management System?

OHSMS is a framework that allows an organization to consistently identify and control its health and
safety risks, reduce the potential for incidents, help achieve compliance with health and safety legislation and
continually improve its performance.

b) What are the benefits for implementing ISO 45001?

reducing the overall costs of incidents, reducing downtime and the costs of disruption to operations,
reducing the cost of insurance premiums, reducing absenteeism and employee turnover rates

c) What kinds of organizations implement OH&S Management Systems?

All the organisztion implements oshsms inorder to fullfill the requirement of the customers. Customer
and the organizations wants to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill
health,

d) What does PDCA cycle stands for?

e) What is the difference between Hazards and Risks?

Hazard is something that has the potential to cause harm, where as risk is the
likelihood of harm taking place, based on exposure to that hazard

f) What is the difference between Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control?

Identifying the hazards and risk factors that has the potential to cause harm. Risk assessment is
analysing and evaluating the risk associated with the hazard. Risk control is finding suitable ways to eliminate the
hazard and control the risk of the hazard which cannot be eliminated.

g) Give four examples of any national, regional or international legal requirements & other
requirements of any type of industry applicable for OH&S?

Parent organization, workers representative, workers organization, owners,


shareholders, clients, visitors and local community.

h) Difference between correction and corrective action?

Correction is taking action to correct the problem. Corrective action is taken to correct
the cause of the problem in order to not happen again.

i) What do you mean by “INCIDENT” in terms of Occupational Health & safety?

It is an unplanned, undesired event that adversely affects the completion of a task.

j) What is an acceptable Risk?

Acceptable risk is the likelihood of an event whose probability of occurrence is small.r

k) ISO 45001 requires that internal audits are objective and impartial. Describe the
difference between objectivity and impartiality in this context?

Objectivity is all about sticking to the observable facts without biasing. Impartiality is about being neutral and being
fair without any bias.

l) List five hazards in beverages bottling industry?

Compress air noise, blast of chillers, Musculoskeletal disorder, lung disease and Occupational skin disease.

m) Identify two essential criteria for evaluation of risks?

Qualitative risk analysis, Quantitative risk analysis.

Consultation implies a two-way communication involving dialogue and exchanges. It involves the timely
provision of the information necessary for the workers and give feedback before making decision. Participation involves
workers in decision making process on OHS performance. Clause 5.4 Consultation and participation of workers.

such situation?

Clause 8.2 Emergency preparedness and response.

s) Is it necessary for an organization to manual OH&S standard? If yes why & if no why?

Yes, to achieve intended outcomes of OHSMS, fulfilment of legal and other requirements, to achieve OHS
objectives and continual improvement of OHS performance.

t) What are the top two responsibilities of Management appointee & which clause
addresses it?

Top management appointee establishes an organization's mission, vision and values, considering its context,
the needs and expectations of its relevant interested parties, and business objectives. Clause 5.1 Leadership and
Commitment.
