===========================================================

Thanks to Extort for a fast method on farming Apriplums, and Axoth for the randomiser
breeding guide.

==========================================
1. New Game Plus
==========================================
* You'll start the game from the beginning

* Your current team will remain with you, but their levels will be set back to 1. This means
their movesets will be returned to their level 1 moveset and if they were evolved, they will be
de-evolved to their base form. Shininess, GP, EVs, IVs and nature remain the same. Egg
moves the Pokemon had when hatched will be overwritten by the level 1 moveset but are
available via move relearner.

* You will receive a permanent EXP boost and a certain amount of Golden Cookies which
you can sell

* Items and your card collection are not transferred. Only cards equipped to your team
members are kept.

* You’ll get a certain number of Golden Cookies which you can collect from Mera Town’s
Pokemon Center and sell for $20,000 each (they serve no other purpose otherwise.)

The EXP boost depends on your current team's average level. Example: If your team is
average level 100, you will get 10% permanent exp boost. The EXP boost will also be
multiplied with the EXP boost from a previous New Game+ run, if you had one. The
maximum EXP boost is 100% (aka doubled exp).

==========================================
2. Shiny and Platinum Pokemon
==========================================
All Pokemon have a chance to be shiny/platinum.

* Pokemon with a red star, regardless of whether they have a shiny sprite or not (though
they usually will), are shinies. Frequency: 1/256. Shinies receive a total 1.1x multiplier to all
base stats. These are multiplicative with all other boosts (GP, cards, etc.)

* Pokemon with a white star, regardless of whether or not their sprite is in black/white
(though they usually are), are platinum shinies. Platinum shinies are a subset of regular
shinies. Frequency: 1/1500 (approximately 1 in 6 shinies are platinum.) Platinum shinies
receive a total 1.2x multiplier to all base stats instead of receiving the 1.1x shiny boost.
These are multiplicative with all other boosts (GP, cards, etc.)

* Breeding two shiny/platinum parents together increases the chance of the offspring being
shiny/platinum. The exact increase is unknown.
* Breeding parents from different OT/IDs also increases the shiny chance.

* Breeding parents with less similarity increases the shiny chance, but the reverse holds true
as well, e.g. the more similar the parents, the lower the shiny chance. Exact numbers are
unknown.

* As such, a note on breeding for 5gp platinum pokemon: The fastest possible way
involves using all the following steps:
● 5GP parents of the same species, from different trainers, for increased rate of egg
production
● Each parent holding sask incense
● Both parents being plat, if not, shiny will work too
● Low (<=20%) gene similarity

==========================================
3. Catch Chains
==========================================
Catching a Pokemon starts a Catch Chain. The more you catch a certain Pokemon, the
greater the chance it'll appear. The chain is broken once you run away or defeat the
Pokemon you're chaining, or if you catch another Pokemon in the wild, or if you exit the
game. Leaving the area does not reset the chain, but exiting the game does. Chains do not
make that particular wild Pokemon more likely to be shiny/platinum.

==========================================
4a. GP Basics
==========================================
GP (Generation Power) - Each Pokemon starts out with 0 GP points. Pokemon that hatch
from an Egg have a chance of having 1 more GP point than the parent with the least GP
points (example: GP 4 male + GP 2 female = GP 2 or GP 3 offspring). If you are not using a
power seed, and the Pokemon in question can evolve, both the parents need to be evolved
at least once for GP to be passed. This means you can’t use Ditto as one of your parents.
However, if a Pokemon cannot evolve, you can still breed GP for them. The stat boost GP
gives is calculated as (base_stat * (1.1 to the power of GP)). This applies for all stats (HP,
Atk, Def, SpA, SpDef, Spe).
Pokemon now have unique genes that help them pass on GP. The more ‘similar’ the
Pokemon’s genes (i.e. if they were from the same parent), the less likely they are to pass on
GP, and the more likely the offspring’s IVs are poor. In an extreme case (100% similar
parents) the offspring have 0 IVs in all stats.

The less similar the two offspring are, the more likely the offspring is to have additional GP.

The similarity between two Pokemon can be determined by talking to the scientist west of
the Day Care in Shawmonk.

Example: GP 4 male + GP 1 female, similarity = 40%, means GP2 offspring will be produced
100-40=60% of the time and GP1 offspring will be produced the remaining 40% of the time.

This section may need work

==========================================
4b. GP Fusion (genderless)
==========================================
GP Fusion: Genderless Pokemon that can evolve at least once can also acquire GP. In the
Dooriver Research Lab, a scientist will offer to fuse two genderless Pokemon if both have
evolved at least once to produce the unevolved form with one extra GP than the parent with
the lowest GP. Example: 2GP Claydol + 2GP Claydol = 3GP Baltoy. Shininess/plat-ness of
the ‘parents’ has no bearing on the shininess/plat-ness of the ‘offspring’.

==========================================
4c. GP, Power Seed and the heart icon
==========================================
Equipping a Power Seed to a male Pokemon means there is a chance the male’s GP is
directly passed on regardless of the female’s GP, or whether either parent is evolved.

The chances for a Pokemon to have the father’s GP passed down via power seed are:
If father has 0 GP: 100%
If father has 1 GP: ???
If father has 2 GP: ???
If father has 3 GP: ???
If father has 4 GP: ???
If father has 5 GP: ???

Percentages need updating

However, once such an egg is produced by directly passing on the male’s GP, the Power
Seed is consumed.

The heart icon on the Pokemon’s summary means it has a permanent Power Seed effect,
meaning it always has a chance to transfer its GP value directly to its offspring. The chances
of this are the same as the ones listed above. Male non-shiny Pokemon have a 1% chance
of having this attribute. All natural shinies and platinums have this attribute. Shinified
Pokemon cannot have this attribute unless they had it prior to being shinified.

As of 0.9.5b, you can occasionally find Power Seeds in Carnival Park, Dooriver by fishing.

==========================================
5. Cards
==========================================
Every Pokemon in the wild has a 1% chance to drop its Card when defeated (aka you knock
the Pokemon out or catch it.) Shiny/Platinum Pokemon have 10% chance to drop a
Shiny/Platinum Card.

Card Balls are purchasable from Asutra City’s Card Shop and if a Pokemon is caught with
one, the rate at which that Pokemon’s card is dropped increases 5x. This means regular
cards are dropped 5% of the time, and shiny/plat cards 50% of the time.

Cards give the following all-stat boost when equipped to the card slot (note that the card slot
is separate from the held item slot):
* 1.25x - regular card
* 1.5x - shiny card
* 2x - platinum card

Finally, a Card can only be equipped to a species it belongs to. Example: Charmander Card
can only be equipped to Charmander but not Charizard. Shiny cards can still be equipped to
normal mons, and vice versa. For example, a shiny card + platinum mon gives 1.3x
(platinum mon boost) 1.5x (shiny card boost) for a total of 1.95x. Regular card + shiny mon
gives 1.25x (regular card boost) 1.15x (shiny mon boost) for a total of 1.4375x.

You can however upgrade cards of Pokemon that can evolve, using the Crafting Kit, and the
Card Upgrade items. The Crafting Kit is found in the Pokegear tab, and Card Upgrades can
be bought at Dooriver Dept. Store or Sylen Dept. Store for 50k.
Cards cannot be upgraded in shininess (i.e. you cannot turn a Mudkip Card into a Shiny
Mudkip Card or Platinum Mudkip Card.) Specific card upgrades are required for branched
evolutions. Please check #faq ‘s item location guide and Ctrl+F “Special Card Upgrades”.
You cannot “de-evolve” cards (i.e. get a Platinum Eevee Card from a Platinum Vaporeon
Card).

Traded cards do not register to one's collection, however if you upgrade the traded card, the
upgraded card will be registered.

If you find you cannot upgrade a certain card, please post in #bug-reports.

On opening booster packs: each booster pack is guaranteed to contain one shiny/platinum
card. The sequence of what cards you get is predetermined by your specific save file, so you
cannot soft reset.

6. Trading FAQ/troubleshooting (please also refer to
the pinned post in #trades)
==========================================
* Ensure you are on the latest version (check #progress)

* When giving a Pokemon, a file called 'trade_pokemon' will appear inside your game folder.
If you're giving multiple pokemon, please make sure you move each 'trade_pokemon' file to
a different directory to ensure it doesn't get overwritten.

* You can't trade legendaries. That now includes Ditto. Spoilers: Petshop is an exception.

* If it says: "This Pokemon isn't meant for you" that means the trading ID entered by your
partner was incorrect. This could mean that you told them the wrong ID, or they entered it
wrong or both. It is you and your trading partner's responsibility to triple check the ID they
enter is correct

* You cannot receive a Pokemon whose level is higher than the highest level Pokemon on
your team. Before you conduct the trade, make sure you are capable of receiving said
Pokemon

* When receiving multiple Pokemon, ensure that each file is named 'trade_pokemon'. Make
sure there are no 'trade_pokemon (1)' or similar looking files. Naming must be exact.

* You cannot trade Pokemon if you are playing on a randomiser.

Should you mess up entering your trading ID, there is no way to 'resend' that Pokemon. In
that case, please respectfully contact a moderator and/or post in #bug-reports.

7. Apriplums
==========================================
Overview
If a Pokemon consumes an Apriplum in battle, its HP will be recovered (depending on the
type of Apriplum consumed) and an Apriplum seed will be left over. Plant these seeds to
obtain more Apriplums. You’ll need to water your plants with Fresh Water periodically.

Growing Apriplums
The places where you can grow Apriplums are as follows:
- Selene Town
- Shawmonk Town
- Canyon Pass (west of the High Canyon Resort)
- Secluded Meadow (aka east of Route 106, requires Surf/Boat)
- Asutra City, in the south, directly west of the exit to Delta Overpass

Humidity
Different areas have different humidity levels, which affects how fast the soil dries up. A
humidity level of H means that for every H steps, the water level in the soil goes down by 1.

The water level starts from 100 and when it drops below 25, you can't even plant an
Apriplum in it until you water it with some Fresh Water. You can purchase Fresh Water at
vending machines in Dooriver and Sylen’s Department Stores.

Location Humidity level H

Selene Town 100

Shawmonk Town 80

Canyon Pass 40

Secluded Meadow 60

Asutra City 100

Therefore, the best locations to plant your Apriplums are Asutra and Selene, since they dry
out the slowest.

Properties of the different Apriplum Types

Apriplums can sometimes mutate into different types. This means planting a Blue Apriplum
seed can give you Blue Apriplum plants, Crimson Apriplum plants or Royal Apriplum plants.

You can harvest the apriplum type once you reach its “steps to maturation.” Reach “steps to
withering”, however, and your apriplums will wither and die.

If you wish to obtain the rarest variety of Apriplum, proceed in the following fashion: Normal
-> Blue -> Royal -> Amida.

The following table summarises some information you may find useful:

Apriplum HP Selling Steps to Steps to Possible

Type Recovered Price per Maturation Withering Mutations
Apriplum

Normal 20 250 1,200 6,000 Yellow, Blue

Yellow 30 5,000 1,200 6,000 None

Blue 20 2,000 1,200 6,000 Crimson,

Royal

Crimson 150 20,000 1,200 6,000 None

Royal 100 12,000 1,600 6,000 Amida

Amida 300 40,000 3,000 6,000 None

Miscellanea
Apriplum compost and withered apriplums currently don’t do anything.

Tip: Equip a Toxic Orb on one of your Pokemon (preferably at a high level) and recover their
HP with the other Apriplum variants to farm their seeds efficiently. Example: if you are
currently at normal Apriplums, when you get Blue Apriplums via mutation, feed these to your
Toxic Orb Pokemon to get Blue Seeds (for producing Royals) and enter battles with them to
drop their HP quickly. This saves you from having to constantly whittle down your Pokemon’s
HP when you need to use an Apriplum.

Tip: Canyon Pass is the only Apriplum spot you can’t fly to. Since it’s also the one with the
worst humidity, it is recommended that you only use the other 4 spots and ignore Canyon
Pass entirely.

8. Auctions
==========================================
* Auctions are held at the Sylen Underground. Enter the Underground from KP Tower, and
head north at the first intersection. Then head west through the doorway.

* Auctions reset every 24 hours and after walking a certain number of steps.

* Pokemon from auction can be 0-3GP, and shiny/plat. Many Legendary Pokemon can be
obtained in this fashion, though the rarer the Pokemon, the higher the price. ** Personal
observation: I received an auction for a platinum 3GP legendary (Jirachi) which sold for
somewhere around 3.5M.

* The shady man at the entrance tells you the species of today’s auction.

* Auctions cannot be soft-resetted for. Once you complete an auction, the next one is set in
stone, same as with booster packs. If you want a different auction, complete the auction
currently available first (you can choose not to bid).

==========================================
9. Randomiser
==========================================
So you want to breed in Randomizer? Well here's a few greedy tips!

Why should you?

1. Randomizer allows for mons that are not in the base game to be caught/breed.
2. It's possible to get GP on Legendary mons.
3. It's interesting to get random mons from eggs.

Downsides:
1. It's possible that certain mons will be unavailable due to the randomizer change. It's
important to know this since it's possible that more mons will be unavailable than what is in
the base game numbers wise.
2. It can be extremely difficult.

Recommendations/Requirements:
1. Playthrough a Normal Game first. The normal game allows you to build up a team to
survive the potential difficulty of Randomizer and get at least 1 5gp Shiny/Plat mon.
2. Bring a Male 5gp Shiny/Plat for Super Sperm aka the red heart.
3. Look at your starters. Your starters will be a good indication at what you can breed. If
you're looking for a certain mon the starters is the best to look at.

Actual Breeding:
Breeding is relatively simple in Randomizer. The mons keep their egg groups so you can
use a wiki to see what males/females can breed. The biggest change you'll fine is that the
output of the female is different than normal game. Let's use Pidgey as an example. If your
pidgey becomes an Necrozma, then all pidgey and it's evolved forms will give Necrozma
Eggs. However, if your dratini, dragonair, or dragonite become 2nd/3rd evolution mons then
it will be impossible to get any eggs for them since eggs are based of the base mon in any
evolution chain.

Now lets talk about getting gp in randomizer, the simple answer for that is Don't. With the
mons changing an the issue of similarity in breeding, the chances of getting a 5gp mon in
randomizer from any point is extremely low and not worth the difficulty/time. Bring a 5gp
male shiny/plat from a normal ng. That 5gp male shiny/plat with a held power seed with hall
100% chance of passing down its 5gp. Now add in the random eggs, that 5gp shiny can
become a 5gp shiny of a different egg group or become a legendary.
