To Whom It May Concern:

It is a pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Jessica Szuber. I am a professor in Early

Childhood Education at Western Michigan University. I coordinated her elementary internship in New
Zealand where she co-taught a culturally diverse group of Year 7 (11 and 12 year olds) children. She
was selected for the study abroad internship experience based on her professionalism, leadership
abilities and previous experiences with diversity.

Jessica is a very focused student with excellent potential. She has an ability to critically analyze
educational practices and clearly articulate her educational philosophy. Her work in my seminar
exceeded my expectations for comprehensiveness and clarity.

Jessica had an impressive internship experience. She carefully studied the individual needs of each
child in the classroom and designed lessons that used multimedia, discussion, games and art to
engage them. She is a very creative teacher and welcomes new challenges. She loves learning and
is eager to gain more knowledge and skills.

I am confident that Jessica will be an outstanding teacher. She will have a positive impact on your
programs and students. She has my highest recommendation. Please feel free to contact me if you
would like any additional information.

Sincerely,

Regena F. Nelson, Ph.D.
