Question # 01: (10 Marks) (PLO 2, CLO 3)

Automatic street light system automatically switch the lights ON when light intensity falls
below a certain predefined level, no matter whether it is actually evening or a cloudy day
morning time.
It utilizes LDR (Light dependent resistor) as light sensor, whose resistance goes on increasing as
the light intensity decreases. The resistance is converted into voltage drop. Values of the voltage
drops received from the light sensor ranges from 0 to 6 volts. An Analogue to digital convertor
(ADC) generates the binary code for the value of voltage produced by sensor.

The logic of system is as follows: When the value of voltage drop exceeds 4v, the switch should
be turned ON; otherwise switch should be kept OFF.

Sensor, Analogue to digital convertor (ADC) and switch are available, your task is to design the
digital circuit to be used between the ADC and switch to implement the required logic of
automatic street light system.
