academic writing and professional correspondence.
Performance Standard: The learner produces each type of academic writing and
professional correspondence following the properties of well-written texts and
process approach to writing.

I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, you will have been able to
A. describe the features that make a piece of writing professional or
academic;
B. distinguish academic from professional writing;
C. explain the importance of specifying the purpose in academic and
professional writing; and
D. write an academic text and professional text.
