Book Report Themes for

8th Grade US History

THEMES: Famous Faces-Famous Places, What if, Oh we’re from IOWA, Outlaws and Heroes,
Disasters or Oops, Chains & Pains, Trails and Tales, He Said & She Said, Hail to the Chief.

Each quarter you have the opportunity to read a historical fiction or nonfiction reading.
You will create a book report presentation that you will present to your section of US
History. There are 9 theme options you will use to decide which theme your book fits
and use the theme in your presentation to present your information to the class. You
will need to give a thumbs up or a thumbs down along with reasons why for your choice.

Presentation Ideas include

Required Projects: you must complete both of these projects

during U.S. History:
Brown Bag it- you must get a brown bag from Mrs. Schmidt and use it in a creative way as part of your
book report.

Dress the Part - you must dress as a character of your book as you give your book report.
