Narrative Report
on
2019 Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC)
Nov. 20-25, 2019

Deped Order No. 30, S.2018 known as the Preventive Drug Education Program Policy for
Curriculum and Instruction, the Deped issues the enclosed Preventive Drug Education Program
Policy for curriculum and instruction in support of the National Drug Education Program as
provided in Section 43 Article IV of RA. No. 9165 hereunder quoted as “instruction on drug abuse
prevention and control shall be implemented in the elementary, secondary and tertiary of all public
and private schools whether general, technical, vocational, agro – industrial as well as nonformal,
informal and indigenous learning system.
In line with the above statement, the Binmaley School of Fisheries conducted its 2019 Drug
Abuse Prevention and Control(DAPC)on November 20- 25, 2019 in respond to the aim of making
Preventive Drug Education Program (PDEP) services accessible to all learners, teaching and non
– teaching personnel.
To mobilize the aim and purpose of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC)
program, several activities were conducted in order also to equip learners with an all- out learning
opportunities used to combat drug abuse.
Upholding to the event’s theme” Katarungan para sa kalusugan, kalusugan para sa
katarungan”, students joined the poster making contest held on Nov. 20, 2019 at the Science
Laboratory. The said contest was facilitated by Mr. Pepito R. Baniqued.
Another contest conducted on Nov. 20, 2019 at 10:00- 11:30 in the morning at the Science
Laboratory was the slogan making which was facilitated by Mrs. Liza Laureano.
An essay writing contest was held on Nov. 21, 2019 at the Science Laboratory which was
been assisted by Mrs. Shiela Marie F. Bautista and Ms. Bea Patricia T. Sison.
Highlighting the purpose of this event, a symposium was conducted at the BSF Training
Center on Nov. 21, 2019 at 8:30 – 11:30 AM. Lectures and Discussions from the symposium were
rendered by the police officers of the Municipality of Binmaley. Several topics concerning the
adverse implication s of drug abuse including its health, socio- cultural and psychological
implications were shared to student and teacher participants of the said program to strengthen their
awareness and resistance on drug abuse. The symposium was facilitated by Mr. Rolly A. Baniqued
Jr,NDEP Coordinator , Mrs. Marife S. Liquiran, BSF School nurse and Ms. Vanessa S. Castro of
the SHS Department.
Extending the level of awareness on these drug prevention and control, a parade was also
conducted and participated by selected students and teachers of the Binmaley School of Fisheries
on Nov. 25, 2019 at 7:30 -9:00 AM. The said parade was led by Mr. Rooly A. Baniqued Jr, NDEP
Coordinator and Ms. Sherryl M. Basa, SSG Adviser.
To spice up the event, a jingle contest was held at the BSF Training center. The jingle aims
to inform the respondents of the program about the implications of the drug abuse on health and
on the face of justice through sing and dance.
The everything in this Drug Abuse Prevention and Control program was indeed essential
of its purpose. This also adheres to the quotation of Benjamin Franklin stating that an ounce of
prevention is worth a pound of a cure.
