1. PURPOSE OF THE METHOD STATEMENT

The purpose of this Method Statement is to outline the sequences and the methods of works
intended to be used for Pile Head Treatment Works.

Method Statement used in Pile Head Treatment works shall be such as not to cause damage to
surrounding property and also, to ensure that work will be executed safely

2. SCOPE OF WORKS

This procedure provides a Method Statement of control of Pile Head Treatment as per the
specification / approved drawings (RFC) in order to achieve the compliance.

3. RESPONSIBILITY

3.1 Project Manager : Leads all construction activities and enforces strict adherence
to all project requirements and reports to the Divisional
Manager.

3.2 Site Manager : Leads all construction activities and enforces strict adherence
to all project requirements and reports to the Project
Manager

3.3 Engineers : Ensure that all related works are carried out in accordance
with the approved drawings, specifications, schedule, quality
and safety. They will report to the Project Manager.

3.4 Supervisor or Foreman : Supervises the entire installation at the field and reports to
the Engineers.

3.5 QA / QC Staf : Responsible to assist the construction team, to ensure works


complies with specification and to monitor implementation of
the controls. Coordinate with DEWA Engineer and third party
for testing as required.

3.6 Site Safety Officer : Shall ensure periodical tool box talks, check for PPE, to ensure
safe execution of work as per HSE

5.1 The following tools and equipment will be used:

- Bobcat - 01 No
- Drill Machine - 01 No
- Shovel - as required
- Survey instruments, like auto level, total station, etc.

All plant and equipment must be certified as required by DEWA

5.2 Manpower Resources (Personnel / Work Force)

- Site Engineer - 01 (Mr. Joe)


- QC /QC Engr.- 01
- HSE Engr. - 01( Mr. Amith & Mr. Shiva Prakash)
- Foremen - 01 ( Mr. Shiva Prasad & Mr. Govind)
- Operator - competent operator with 3rd party certification.
- Driver - competent operator with 3rd party certification.
- Laborer - competent operator with 3rd party certification.
- Banksmen - competent operator with 3rd party certification.

6.0 METHOD STATEMENT FOR PILE HEAD TREATMENT:


6.1 PILE HEAD TREATMENT:
 After casting blinding concrete place, the swellable Water bar around the pile at a height
of 30mm from blinding concrete.
 Chamfers shall be made around piles using CM1:4 and Eensure that all horizontal and
vertical surfaces intended for waterproofing are smooth and read to receive the
membrane in case the screed surface is rough the surface has to be smoothed by
removing any protruding debris from the surface. All right angles are provided with
triangular fillets.

 Apply approved primer & water proofing membrane material on the top of blinding
concrete.
 The water proofing membrane will be extended up to the
portion of the pile head 25 50 mm from the outer edge of the pile head.
 Formwork will be fixed around the pile for grouting 20 50 mm thickness shrinkage
compensated free flowing concrete of high strength all around outer face of the pile.
 After the completion of waterproofing pile Grout minimum thickness 50mm POLYGROUT
EY 3000 PH as per approved RFC drawing.
 After completion of grouting curing shall be carried out as per specification.
 After finishing of surface preparation start applying two coats elastomeric cement
waterproofing NITOCOTE CM210 (Approved material) by using roller or brushes on the
top around (vertical) the piles in accordance to the approved drawings.
 Mock-up sample of pile head treatment/membrane shall be prepared and inspected.
 Full attention shall be implemented wile breaking the pile in order to avoid any damages.
In case of damaged pile, the pile shall be repaired by approved material up to required
cut of level.

7. QUALITY CONTROL
 All works shall be executed in compliance with quality requirements as per Project
Quality Plan.
 The quality control measures will be conveyed to all concerned personnel involved the
execution of work by QA/QC Engineer, prior to commencement of work.

8. HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT:


 All operatives will undergo a site induction before being allowed to work on the site.
 All plants and tools to be used should adhere to safety standards.
 Banks men are to control the movement of plant on site. All banks men are to wear
high visibility jackets.
 Safety sign boards will be erected on the site.

 Only trained, legal & third party certified operatives can operate the plant items The
foreman will conduct tool box talk in the presence of HSE
officer at regular intervals and will submit copy of records to
HSE department.

9. SAFETY CONTROL MEASURE:


9.1 Safety Compliances shall be provided to avoid accident:
9.1.1 Hazards & Intimation Sign board and Emergency Contact No shall be displayed.
9.1.2 Safe Access and Egress shall be provided.
9.1.3 Confined space working procedure will be followed.
 First Aid facilities should be provided.
 Drinking water and worker rest room facilities.
 Standby vehicle hall always be made available at site for emergency purpose.
9.1.4 Conducting Safety Training for Team Engaged to the work will be explained
9.1.5 Health & Safety Plan and PPE requirements.
9.1.6 Emergency Evacuation Explain clearly – In case of an emergency proceed to
ASSEMBLY POINT.
9.1.7 Safety TOOL BOX TALKS Conducting on Daily Basic intimated Safety Hazards and Control
Measures
9.1.8 Ensure that Environment issues like wastage management and Noise level is within
permissible limit
9.1.9 House Keeping to be done parallel and properly
10. EMERGENCY PRODEDURE
 Emergency exit and assembly points made for excavation.
 Fire extinguisher provide where the hot work is applicable
 Easy access to be provided with ladder and handrails
