Generic Well Severance Method Statement

1. Comply and complete the Multi-String Cutting Tool (MSCT) Water Abrasive Jet Cutting risk assessment
prior to commencement of any operations
2. Arrange all Proserv MSCT equipment on deck per the pre agreed deck plan
3. Ensure pre-deployment function tests are completed for the MSCT and Jetcut water abrasive cutting
system and all checklists and cut depth record sheets completed and witnessed checked by client rep.
4. Proserv Supervisor to confirm well specifications supplied by client are current for the casing run in the
well.
5. Proserv supervisor to confirm well has been properly drifted to 5ft below target cut depth. (typ 15ft BML)
6. Carry out any well preparations required by proserv for annular seal. Confirm status.
7. Rig up drift cleaning tool (DCT) to deployment winch wire and hang above drill floor. Carry out function
test.
8. Proserv to confirm with client target cut depth and complete the cut depth record sheet.
9. Run DCT into well via deployment winch and confirm drift run to 5ft below target cut depth.
10. Recover DCT to rig floor and break down ready for MSCT deployment.
11. Spool out umbilical to the rig floor, and through banana sheave.
12. Pickup and hang banana sheave in derrick above drill floor.
13. Rig up MSCT to deployment winch and connect tooling umbilical.
14. Pickup MSCT into derrick and hang above rig floor, carry out pre-deployment function test.
15. Run MSCT into well via deployment winch whilst paying out umbilical.
16. Confirm MSCT at target cut depth and stop deployment.
17. Proserv to inform Client rep that tool is deployed and about to commence severance operations
18. MSCT lock assembly to be actuated via nitrogen, confirm lock.
19. MSCT seal assembly to be actuated via nitrogen.
20. Start hydraulic powerpack and rotate the cutting head, confirm rotation via electronic encoder.
21. Start HP pump, confirm pressure stable at cutting nozzle.
22. Start compressor and begin de-watering of well casing.
23. Once confirmation that casing is de-watered, start the severance operation by water abrasive delivery.
24. Once the severance is confirmed via tool monitoring/Seabed disturbance or overpull on the well,
shutdown abrasive delivery and compressor.
25. Flush abrasive slurry lines in the umbilical and tool.
26. Shutdown HP pump and hydraulic power pack.
27. De-activate the MSCT lock and sealing assemblies.
28. Begin recovery of MSCT back to rig floor.
29. Rig down MSCT at the rig floor and lay down.
30. Lower banana sheave and recover umbilical to spooler unit.
31. Begin slot recovery of the well.
32. Repeat process for further wells.

Please note, the subsea well procedure will differ slightly from the surface wellhead deployment noted above.
