CPVC Pipe Installation Works

1. PURPOSE

The purpose of this method statement is to be describe the method of works and detailed
sequences of CPVC Pipes

2. SCOPE

This procedure covers the activity of making Floor Water Supply Works.

3. Materials & Tools

a) CPVC Pipes
b) Measurement Tape
c) Hack saw Frame with Blade
d) CPVC Fittings
e) CPVC Solvent
f) Drilling machine
g) Anchor Fashner

4. Method of works

 Shifting of the material to individual produces


a) Cutting

 Cut the pipe to right angle to its axis using burr free cutter or hack saw blade.
 Ensure that pipe is free from burrs or chips.
 Clean the pipe & fitting perfect before jointing
 Mark jointing depth at the end of pipe as per the fitting.

b) Jointing

 Clean the pipe end to be inserted in the pipe fitting and clean the fitting also.
 Apply manufacturer recommended CPVC solvent cement (FLOWGUARD) on the pipe end
adequately and also inside the fitting.
 Insert the pipe into the fitting gently and apply desired pressure on the joint. Hold the pipe
and fitting for a minute and allow for bonding, solvent cement to dry.
 Continue the process of jointing as per the required lengths and as per required fittings to
complete the piping system.

 Any misalignment should be corrected immediately after insertion to avoid any stress in the
weld.

c) Installation

 Install the jointed pipes in the wall grooves already chipped out in the walls as per approved
pipe layouts.
 Installed pipes are to be secured in the grooves by means of pipe clamps or nails and wire as
per the site condition.
 All the end connection FTAs or MTA to be placed to proper alignment i.e. to levels as per tiles
marking.
d) Testing

 The installed pipes are to be tested with pressure pump to the required or to the specified
pressure (Recommended pressure is 10 kg/sq. cm) and pressure to be maintained up to 24
hrs. Any leakages to be checked immediately during retaining of pressure.

5. Quality Control Measure /EHS

a) Manual handling checklist should be aware to all peoples.


b) Proper use of PPEs.
c) Provided proper barricading at floor Level.
d) Deploy earthlings to be provided to equipment.
e) Follow the permit to work system.
f) Maintain good housekeeping at work location.
g) Weekly maintenance to be done for all machinery and equipment.
