that saves lots of time not pushing you enter the information horse by horse.

The full Multiple menu:

Some options allow to enter the information once and it is copied to each selected horse (Farrier, health, blood tests,
etc). Other options display a list of selected horses and fields next to each one to enter the information (Field edition,

BREEDING FEATURES

Breeding Cycle
In CRIO, you can work recording each Breeding Service and then entering the Breeding Controls related to each service.
All this records are what describe the whole Breeding Cycle.

To make it easier for the users, CRIO offers a Wizard that guides you through the process.

For more advanced use or to correct errors in data entry, you can always go to the underlying features (Breeding
Services and Breeding Controls).

Simple Wizard
CRIOONLINE have a simplified breeding cycle wizard that makes it easier to follow the whole process: breeding,
monitoring and foaling. You can find this feature section in the mare’s page, on the right column “Mare’s pregnancy
status”.

So, if all goes well this is really simple. If you enter a wrong date or Sire, you can't use the wizard to correct it, so you
need to manually correct the underlying breeding service or control.

STEP 1:

The initial status is “OPEN”, so you need to click on “Change Status” to enter the Breeding Service information
(AI, ET, etc.)

Enter the breeding service, in case you are set in a Recipient mare, and you are doing a Embryo Transfer, you
need to select also the donor mare.

www.crioonline.com 7|Page
CRIOONLINE – QUICK START GUIDE

STEP 2:

Once you enter the Breeding service, the Mare is marked as “Served” but “without pregnancy verification”. And
now you see a “Enter pregnancy check” options.

Entering the date and Pregnancy = yes is all what is needed to mark this mare as pregnant.

STEP 3:

Once you entered the Pregnancy Check, the status changes to “Pregnant”, and now you have 2 new options:
“Enter pregnancy monitoring” and “Enter foal”

Enter pregnancy monitoring: it is the same screen as the previous step. As long as you keep marking it as
“Pregnancy = yes” the mare is kept “Pregnant” in CRIO. If in any check you mark it as “Abortion” or “Reabsorption”, the
mare is marked as “Open by abortion”.

Enter foal: Once the mare foals, you can use this option to create the foal in CRIO. This way the Foal is created with
the Sire from the breeding service, no need to enter that info manually. And if it was a ET, the Dam is set as the Donor
mare (not the recipient). After entering the foal, the mare goes back to the OPEN status.

Detailed
Using the normal or detailed option, you have access to more fields on Breeding Services and other features:
• You can schedule a next breeding control (ie: for follicle scan)
• You can mark the breeding service as "Programed", to mean it will be done in the future, not a real service.
• You can mark the breeding "To be flushed", and that way you will activate the feature of record the Embryo
Recovery (Flush).

Breeding Services:
You can enter a breeding service for the mare or recipient (if it is ET)
The breeding can be done from the Mare's or the Stallion page.

Breeding Controls:
You can create a breeding control each time a vet checks the mare
A breeding control can be associated to a Breeding Service or not (if the mare is open, you are checking for follicles, so
no breeding service yet)
Once you create a Breeding Control, you can add a "Next check date"
This is ideal for follicle scanning.
If the control is associated with a Breeding Service, the control result (Pregnant, empty, abortion, etc) will determine
the current mare's pregnancy status.
In the Reminder section will appear the mares to check for follicles (once you entered the "Next check date"

Reports and Reminders

In the Reports area, you can see a section dedicated to Breeding, where you can access several reports.
