College Entrance Examination apply a common standard to everyone. This helps colleges
evaluate and compare the preparation of students who go to different high schools. All schools
do not offer the same academic programs, learning environments or even expectations. Colleges
look at your test scores, along with your high school grades and courses, to see how well
prepared you are for college-level work.

It is a common opinion among students during exams that there is too much to study and
there is very little time. This makes time management one of the most important components
which directly influence exam stress. Many students misuse the time available during exams,
either to avoid studying or by underestimating the effort and time needed in tackling exams.
Planning your time helps you think about it strategically and, even if you have to alter your study
plans, you will benefit more from having previously defined your tasks and activities.

According to Shazia Nasrullah,PhD andMuhammad Saqib Khan, PhD. Time

management is very important and it may actually affect individual's overall performance and
achievements. However, all of these are related by how individuals manage their time to suit
their daily living or to make it flow steadily with their routines. Conducive settings and
environment will surely promote positive outcomes to the students, besides having good lectures
given by their teachers. Nevertheless, students' time management can be considered as one of the
aspect that can move a student to be a good student. A good time management is vital for
students to shine. However, some of the students do not have good time management skills that
has negatively affect their life and their academics. The usage of time by students in higher
education institutions is related to their daily routines and activities. Students' time management
can also affect stress level of students as they need to cope with their tasks and their personal
achievements

Time management plays a vital role in improving student’s academic performance and
achievements. Each and every student should have time management ability which includes
setting goals & priorities, using time management mechanism and being organized in using time.
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

Darwin D. Yu, a student of Ateneo De Manila University conducted a study entitled, "How Much
Do Study Habits, Skills, and Attitudes Affect Student Performance in Introductory College Accounting
Courses?" Data related to variables found to have influenced accounting performance in previous. Time
spent studying, attendance in review classes conducted in tutorial centers, motivation, and study habits
have no significant effect. Upon further analysis comparing high and low performers, study habits show
up to be significant as well. In particular, students who performed betterare those who did more in
terms of reading ahead, doing their homework, participating in class, and cramming for exams. Time

A good time management is vital for students to shine. However, some of the students do not have a
good time management skill that has negatively affect their life and their academics. The usage of time
by students in higher education institutions is related to their daily routines and activities. Students'
time management can also affect stress level of students as they need to cope with their tasks and their
personal achievements. In this regard, the data was collected from the students of Qurtuba University of
Science and Technology to analyze that how effectively they are managing their time for achieving their
academic standards.

A study was conducted by Shazia Nasrullah and Muhammad Saqib Khan about The Impact of Time
Management on the Students’ Academic Achievements last 2015. The main objective of the current
research is that to which extent time management practices influences the academicachievement of the
university students in higher education institution of a developing country like Pakistan. This research
study is about time management andhow it is related to academic performance the Petroleum
institute(PI) in Abu Dhabi, the UAE. The study was made by surveyingmale freshmen and sophomore
students regarding problems ofprocrastination, disorganization, interruptions and work loadstress. The
results obtained showed that time management is highly related to academic performance. Finally, by
discussingthe results, they came up with recommendations that can lead the PI students to a better
level of time management. They concluded that their research study has shown that successful students
are good time managers.

Faisal Z. Miqdadi, Abdulla F. ALMomani, Mohammad T. (Shadid Masharqa), and Nabil M. Elmousel
conducted a study entitled, “The Relationship between Time Management and the Academic
Performance of Students from the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi, the UAE” where they surveyed
male freshmen and sophomore students regarding problems of procrastination, disorganization,
interruptions and work load stress which can be a factor affecting the students time management. A
huge number of the Petroleum Institute (PI) students complain about the lack of time they have to
complete their assignments before deadlines.

Time management is one of the factors that significantly affect the grade point average (GPA) of a
student anywhere. So they look for a solution to solve problems that are highly related to time
management such as procrastination, distraction, disorganization and workload pressure.

They collected data mainly by conducting a survey directed to male freshman and sophomore students
in the Petroleum Institute (P.I) who live in Abu Dhabi. The survey consisted of 22 closed-ended questions
such as multiple choice questions, Yes/No questions and ranking questions that helped us gather the
quantitative data required.

The students surveyed were ten freshmen and ten sophomores, all living in Abu Dhabi. The data
gathered was processed generating useful findings and results, which were classified into two categories
according to the students’ Grade Point Average (GPA): successful students (G.P.A above 3.5) and
unsuccessful students (G.P.A below 3.5).

The results shows that all of the unsuccessful students find difficulties managing their time. Most of
them let others do their work, and they always feel stressed about deadlines.

They found out that one of the main factors which affect students’ time management during studying is
interruptions. Another reason is that they spend a lot of time on social networks. In addition, mobile
phones, music and friends create a huge interruption for them. On the other hand, there are
unsuccessful students who study without getting interrupted and still get low grades. Finally, by
discussing the results, they came up with recommendations that can lead the PI students to a better
level of time management. They concluded that their research study has shown that successful students
are good time managers.
