Statement of Study and Professional Intentions

After completing my high school, I am interested in pursuing my undergraduate studies in

Digital Business & Innovation offered by the Tokyo International University, Japan. Over the
past two decades, advancements in digital business and technology have had a big impact on
the way that businesses operate, creating new challenges, risks, and opportunities for
organizations. In a world where the success of a company is dependent on the latest
technological innovations, I have been inspired by modern-day, digital transformations such as
that of Taxis to Uber, Movies to Netflix, Food Delivery to Swiggy. My passion for digital business
has strengthened my decision to study Digital Business & Innovation. I am a creative, motivated
and hard-working individual who loves new challenges, can adapt, and is always willing to learn,
for this reason, I believe I can succeed in this course.

I fondly remember my trip to Bengaluru where I participated in CeBIT Information & Technology
Exhibition to assist my father and his team. It was an amazing experience, where I interacted
with people from different backgrounds. I was able to understand the value of diversity,
networking and seeking new opportunities in business.

Japan as a country has a deep connection to my family’s printing business. My family has been
actively trading and servicing printing machines for various manufacturers based out of Japan
for two generations. I believe Japan is amongst the most innovative countries in the field of
technology, robotics, and automation. In terms of education, Japan is at par with most of the
developed countries. Japan has a very rich cultural heritage. It is one of the few nations that has
managed to maintain a balance between the advancements of technology and the traditions of
its past. This has motivated me to apply for my education in Japan. In addition to this, I believe
I’ll have an opportunity to learn the Japanese language which will be useful for my career
growth.

During my primary school life, I was part of the school handball team and have won the
divisional championship for 3 consequent years and represented our division in the state level
handball tournaments. I also captained the blue house in 11th Grade and won School Sports
and Games Championship Shield for my house. This improved my leadership abilities as I
learned how to manage a team, and understood the importance of teamwork, encouraging the
players and improving team spirit. I’m also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer (Classical South-
Indian Dance) and have performed in various prestigious stages over the past 10 years.
TIU’s educational philosophy of "nurturing truly international-minded people" was something to
which I was immediately drawn. I’m interested in studying Digital Business & Innovation
program at Tokyo International University as it provides the education, training, and
environment in which I can develop my knowledge of Digital Business and learn how to apply it
in the real world. This program which focuses on areas, including AI, Deep Learning, Fin-Tech,
and Digital Marketing matches my career goals and interests. TIU’s diversity, a wide range of
subjects, career guidance programs, and successful faculty team are major reasons for me to
pursue this course. The potential for doing internships and working in advanced laboratories
will provide a complete educational experience.

Living in the bustling Tokyo metropolis will provide opportunities to meet diverse people, learn
the international business and understand Japanese culture. Education at TIU will be playing an
important role in building my career. In the future, I plan to digitize my family business
according to the latest technology trends and also expand it further in Japan. As a 3rd
generation entrepreneur who will soon be a part of my family business, I believe dreaming big,
expanding globally with a long-term goal is the key to success. TIU would be the best place for
me to achieve my goals.
