Puerto Princesa

 Puerto Princesa is a coastal city on Palawan


Island in the western Philippines. It's a base
for boat trips through the massive limestone
caves and underground river of the
biodiverse Puerto Princesa Subterranean
River National Park. Dive sites are dotted
around Puerto Princesa Bay, home to long-
nosed dolphins, turtles and rays. Close to
the port is the 19th-century Immaculate
Concepcion Cathedral.

RIVER NATIONAL PARK
 The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is a 
protected area of the Philippines located about 80 kilometres
(50 mi) north of the city centre of Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
The river is also called 'Puerto Princesa Underground River'
and also called 'mountanium rangers'. The national park is
located in the Saint Paul Mountain Range on the western coast
of the island. It is bordered by St. Paul Bay to the north and
the Babuyan River to the east. The City Government of Puerto
Princesa has managed the National Park since 1992. The
entrance to the subterranean river is a short hike or boat ride
from the town Sabang.
Balayong Festival
 March 4th
The festival commemorates the founding anniversary of the
City of Puerto Princesa highlighted by balayong tree-planting,
street dancing and colorful floral parade depicting the Palawan
Cherry Blossoms from which the festival derived its name.
 A merry mixture of socio-civic, cultural, historical, and sports
activities are part of the run events. At the ‘Tabuan’ parade
(tabuan means ‘marketplace’), farmers fisherfolks, market
vendors, traders and buyers showcase the city’s best products
and revel as a thanksgiving for blessings and bountiful
harvest.
 The week-long celebration culminates with the awarding
ceremonies for outstanding accomplishments by notable
Puerto Princesans and the crowning of Ms. Puerto Princesa.

Crocodile Sisig at Kinabuch’s Bar &

Something to treat your taste buds during your Palawan journey is
the popular Crocodile Sisig. It is one of the island’s exotic dishes that
tourists love to try. Crocodile meat is cooked with other delectable
ingredients and spices and placed on a sizzling plate like the typical
sisig dish. The plate also includes egg, bell peppers, and bits of
onions and other various spices for a more flavorful experience.

Danggit Lamayo
 Danggit is a local term used for salted and sun-dried
rabbitfish. Danggit Lamayo in Palawan is a
marinated danggit in vinegar with garlic and
pepper. It is Palawan’s version of danggit, where it
is soaked first in its special marinade before it hits
the pan. This dish is a popular choice for breakfast
with the usual egg and tomatoes on the side

Getting There:
 Air travel from Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo to Puerto
Princesa takes an hour & 15 minutes and is
available daily via Air Philippines, Cebu Pacific
and Zest Air.
 It takes 18 to 22 hours from Manila on board the
Superferry and Negros Navigation. Superferry
calls on Puerto Princesa once a week.
