ARAHAN KEPADA PELAJAR

1. This assignment has ONE (1) question only. You may choose to write in English or
Malay.
Tugasan ini mengandungi SATU (1) soalan sahaja. Anda boleh memilih untuk menjawab
dalam Bahasa Inggeris atau Bahasa Melayu.

2. Your assignment should be typed on A4 paper using 12 pt Times New Roman and
1.5 line spacing.
Tugasan anda perlu ditaip atas kertas A4 dengan menggunakan font bersaiz 12 dan
langkau baris 1.5.

3. You must submit your assignment on-line through the myVLE. Detailed instruction
on submission procedure kindly refer at LMS help.
Anda mestilah menghantar tugasan secara on-line melalui myVLE. Arahan terperinci
tentang prosedur penghantaran sila rujuk pada LMS help.

4. Your assignment must be submitted not later than 19 December 2010.

Submissions after the above mentioned date are not acceptable.

rubric accompanying the assignment question.

6. This assignment carries a 30% weightage toward the final grade.

7. Plagiarism in all forms will not be tolerated. Assignment submitted will

automatically be subjected to a similarity check.
Plagiat dalam sebarang bentuk tiada toleransi. Tugasan yang telah diserahkan akan
secara otomatik tertakluk kepada semakan persamaan.

• Assignments with 10 – 30% overlap with others will be subjected to a 20%

deduction from the total gross marks scored.
Tugasan yang mempunyai persamaan 10-30% dengan yang lain akan tertakluk kepada
penolakan 20% daripada jumlah markah yang telah didapati.

• Assignments with more than 30% overlap with others will earn zero (0) mark.
Therefore, the course grade will be determined solely on the basis of marks
obtained in the remaining components of the course assessment.
Tugasan yang mempunyai persamaan lebih daripada 30% dengan yang lain akan
memperoleh markah kosong (0). Sehubungan dengan itu, gred kursus akan ditentukan
semata-mata berdasarkan kepada markah yang diperolehi daripada komponen-komponen

ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

Public Records consist of any noted recorded or information regarding to all duties or daily
work of a government department. Public records are considers important and could
normally be referred by researchers at government departments with permission or records
which are not being handled anymore would be surrendered to archives all over Malaysia.

INSTRUCTIONS:
As a student studying history, you are asked to refer to any public records in the keeping of
National Archives of Malaysia at the regional archives in your states or state libraries.

Write a full report on the process of referring to the chosen public records from the
beginning to the end. You are to identify the important content in the public records. You
are to detect the problems that arise when you refer to public records and discuss the
importance of the public record to researcher and the nation. Give suitable examples.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:

Your assignment should be between 1200-1500 words and will be assessed based on the
rubric given.

SOALAN TUGASAN

Rekod-rekod Awam merangkumi apa sahaja maklumat yang tercatat atau yang direkodkan
berhubung dengan semua tugas atau kerja harian sesebuah jabatan kerajaan. Rekod-rekod
awam adalah dianggap penting dan pada kebiasaannya rekod awam boleh dirujuk oleh
penyelidik di jabatan-jabatan kerajaan dengan kebenaran atau rekod-rekod yang tidak
dikendalikan lagi akan diserahkan kepada arkib di seluruh Malaysia.

ARAHAN:
Sebagai seorang pelajar mempelajari bidang sejarah, anda diminta untuk merujuk mana-
mana satu rekod awam dalam simpanan Arkib Negara Malaysia yang terdapat di setiap arkib
wilayah di negeri masing-masing atau perpustakaan negeri.

Tuliskan satu laporan penuh tentang proses merujuk rekod awam yang dipilih dari
peringkat awal hingga peringkat akhir. Anda dikehendaki mengenal pasti apakah isi-isi
kandungan yang penting terdapat dalam rekod awam tersebut. Kesan masalah-masalah
yang timbul semasa merujuk rekod awam dan bincangkan kepentingan rekod awam yang
dirujuk kepada penyelidik dan negara. Berikan contoh-contoh yang sesuai.

KRITERIA PENILAIAN:
Penulisan tugasan anda hendaklah sekitar 1200-1500 patah perkataan dan akan dinilai
berdasarkan rubrik yang diberikan.
