like Borewell Compressor, Domestic Monoblock Compressor, Air Compressor and
others. Production of these products is done with respect to the set commercial
norms, making use of the best raw materials and contemporary machines. Owing to

2.1 PURCHASE DEPARTMENT

The purchase of the company is made both in the local and in the interstate level
also. The local purchase made is 70% and remaining 30% purchase is from Punjab,
Gujarat ,Karnataka etc., The purchase department of the industry functions fewer than two
head One looks after the purchase for which the reprocess is required and the other looks
the cash purchase and the purchase of the components, which goes directly in use to the
production of the company.
The purchase can be both cash purchase and credit purchase. The advance payment can
be made through bank.

PURCHASE DEPARTMENT MANAGER IN-CHARGE


The purchase manager includes the following activities:
• Purchase and approval of raw materials and sub item
• Vendor development
• Assessing the capability of new vendors/sub-contractors
• Maintain a list of approved vendors/sub-contractors
• Ensure timely receipt of all materials
• Periodically evaluate the performance of vendors/sub-contractors
• Raising and authorizing purchase order

RESPONSIBILITY
The purchase In-charge shall be responsible to ensure that quality system.
Procedure for purchasing is implemented effectively in order to ensure that purchased
product confirms to specify requirements.

2.2 PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT

The production department does the following functions:


PRODUCTION IN-CHARHGE
The production in-charge does the following functions:
• Over all in charge of production activities
• Quality planning activity
• Maintenance activities
• Periodic calibration of inspection, measuring, and testing equipment
• Instruct the QC inspector on implementation of quality plan
• House keeping

TESTING OF PAINT
Testing of paint undergoes the following points:
• First apply the paint on clean surface
• Mark a one inch square on the painted area
• Divide in to 10 equal square boxes within the one inch box by vertical and
horizontal lines with a sharp pointer
• Stick a ½ cello tape covering to another the 1 box vertically and extended it to
another 1 length.

WELDING
Welding does the following activities:
• Check the oil level
• Check the cable wire connections
• Use 10 SWG welding rods for inter cooler welding works
• If in welding works welders are instructed to use gloves, helmet, and shoes
• While in welding works welders are instructed to use welding shields

HANDLING
The production in- charge shall provide method of handling product that prevents
damage or deterioration

STORAGE
The stores in- charge of production shall use designated storage areas or stock
rooms to prevent damage or deterioration of production, pending use or delivery.

PACKAGE
The production in- charge shall control packaging of marketing process to the
extent necessary to ensure conformance to specified requirements.

PRESERVATION
The production in- charge shall apply appropriate method for preservation of
segregation of production when the production is under their control till it is dispatched.

DELIVERY
The production in- charge shall arrange for the protection of the quality of product
after final inspection of test.

SERVICING
SRI BAKGIAM INDUSTRIES has established a procedure for servicing for its
products. The procedure describes after sales servicing, of its products in details. Quality
records pertaining to servicing are maintained as per procedure.

2.3 MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

The maintenance activities are carried out as follows:

Prevention maintenance
Breakdown maintenance.

PREVENTION MAINTENANCE
• Production in-charge prepares a preventive maintenance checklist. The check list
indicates the maintenance to be carried out daily, weekly, monthly, half yearly.
• Production in-charge carries out the maintenance activities as per the checklist. The
type of maintenance carried out along with the comments of any recorded in the
maintenance register.
• Production in-charge releases the machine for preventive maintenance on the
scheduled day. The details of work carried out on the machine are recorded in the
register.
BREAKDOWN MAINTENACE
• The operator/ Technician communicate in case of machine breakdown to the
production in-charge by verbally. He assesses the nature of breakdown of the
machine.
• If breakdown maintenance is minor in nature, production in-charge carries out the
breakdown maintenance work in house.
• The breakdown details are entered in register.

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Daily
• Clean the bore well pump thoroughly.
• Check the oil level in the crankcase, maintain with the correct grade in

2.4 SALES DEPARTMENT

The sales department does the following activities:

FUNCTIONS
Sales forecast is made month wise by the company to support the production of the
company. The company is also exploring new areas to sell the products of the company.

DIRECT SALES
In the administrative office the final invoice is prepared for the exact value as per
sales in confirmation with gate pass goods can be taken delivery at the check post.

CONSIGNMENT SALES
It is through the consignment agents, in this method goods are sent from the
company along with the delivery order proforma invoice and lorry receipts to the party
concerned and also to the head office. Tax is paid according to the rate prevailing in the
state in which goods are sold.

2.5 QUALITY CONTROL DEPARTMENT

The quality control department includes the following:

competitive price and delivery on time.

Reduction of waste, scrap, rework product Good house keeping
This policy shall be displayed in the factory premises and communicated to all personal
through various channels. This policy shall be implemented to fulfill the requirement of
ISO 9002 in 1994 this policy shall also be compatible with all other policies of the
company.

AIR COMPRESSOR TESTING


• Fix the pressure control switch, safety value and gate value and air cork meter in
tank.
• Apply the soap water in welding joints and accessories.
• Mount the compressor on flat from after testing. Then check the belt tension and oil
level in crank case.
• Check the air leakage during after cooler pipe setting.
• Set the safety value open pressure
• Using the pressure switch set the working pressure
• Check the pressure control switch cut off/on working operation for two to three
times
• before sending to paintings apply patty powder in the welding areas.

BORE WELL COMPRESSOR TESTING


• Check oil level in the crankcase before testing the compressor
• Check the tension of the belt

• Ensure the bolts and nuts are tightly fitted
• For oil testing run the compressor
• During the oil testing check the oil leak in the compressor
• Check the oil leakage after the completion of the low test.

ISSUE AND CONTROL
• Quality manual and quality system procedures shall be issued and controlled by the
• quality in-charge.
• The supervisor shall issue and control three level documents originated by
production in- charge.
• Originator of records may issue the copies of record to the concerned where ever
required.

2.6 ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT

Accounting department looks after all financial transactions of the company. It generally
follows the double entry system of book keeping. The books maintained are:
• Sales book
• Purchase book
• Cash book

SALES BOOK
Sales bills are prepared in sales department. In addition to sales bills, credit notes are
also prepared.

PURCHASE BOOK
It is a book of record, in which credit purchase book are entered. Purchase vouchers and
material invoice are entered in the purchase department.
CASH BOOK
Cash book is a book to record all the cash transactions that are cash receipt and cas h
payment of the business concern.

LEDGER
General ledger is maintained to record all the above maintained accounts. Creditors
ledger is maintained in territorial wise. Every transaction is recorded in vouchers.
The following vouchers are maintained in accounting department:
• Cash payment voucher
• Bank payment voucher
• General voucher
• Other bank voucher

2.7 PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT

The job requirements are determined by the head of the department and informed to higher
officials.

EMPLOYEES PROVIDENT FUND ACT 1952 AND SCHEME


Provident Fund
Applicability
All the factories employing 30 would come under the Employees Provident Scheme
1952 provided it has completed 3 years from the date of commencement of the
production/sales.

Important work
• When any employees joins the company, first of ascertain whether he is already a
PF member or not by getting Form 11 from him.
• If he is already a member and had not with draw his PF accumulations, he has to be
enrolled as PF member in your establishment from the date of joining.
• If he is not member of PF get the declaration/nomination form under PF scheme
and cover him under the PF scheme Recovery of contributions and remittance.

Both employer and employee contributions are to be remitted before first of every month
10% of his basic wages plus DA earned by him including cash value of any food
concession as mentioned below.
• Employee PF-12% of basic wages plus DA.
• Employee Family pension-8.33% of basic wages

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
All chain drive, belt drives shall be guarded. All “LX11”points shall be marked in RED
COLOUR for emergency.

ACCIDENTS
All accidents causing bodily injury, which prevents a person injured from working for a
period of 48 hours following the accident, shall be reported to inspector of factories in
Form-18. If such accidence returns for work before the 21 day, report regarding accidence
for work shall be sent within 7 days from the date of returning for work.

2.8 MARKETING DEPARTMENT

There are five members in this team. The sales distribution is spread all over India. It is
made easy by the dealer, distributor network. Marketing is done at equal intervals at all
and represented areas. The team members of the department do this work.

SALES PROMOTION ACTIVITIES


The sales promotion activities measures are made by the company. The sales
promotion activities include wall painting hoardings and advertisements in newspapers.
Awareness meeting are also conducted to mechanics of the industry. The company is also
conducting free service camp to the benefit of the customers. It is also conducting other
promotion activities also.

PAYMENTS
Payments to the products that are supplied to the dealers depend only upon the
goodwill, turn over and cost experience with the company. The payment is made by the
dealers should be in the way of advance payment which is made through bank. A credit of
thirty days is given against payment.

FUNCTIONS
Sales forecast is made month wise by the company to support the production of the
company. The company is also exploring new areas to sell the products of the company.

CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS HANDLING


Sales executives receive the customer complaints. For market related complaints
like dispatch problem, documentation problem, packing problem, invoicing shall be
handled by sales executives. Sales executive reviews the complaints an4433333333 d

consultation with managing partner. The complaints are analyzed and necessary corrective
and preventive actions are initiated.

3.1 KEY LEARNINGS

This being my first position in an office atmosphere, I didn’t know exactly what to
expect. The environment here at Experience is quite relaxed, yet it taught me how to
behave in the workplace. Simply working in the office and getting used to everything here
has definitely prepared me for whatever my next position may be. Just observing the
everyday events has taught me more about teamwork, and how people can come together
to get things done. Although sometimes I have to remind myself to use my inside voice, I
feel I’ve adapted to the office life relatively well.

Coming into this position, I felt that I had no idea where my career was going and I
lacked confidence about what I could do and what I am really good at. My internship has
definitely given me a better understanding of my skill set and where my career may take
me, but most importantly, I’ve come to learn that I am not alone.

Like I said, this internship has improved my skills a ton, both off paper and on
paper. I didn’t realize it all of this time, but this position served me as a positive learning
experience.

4. CONCLUSION

The internship training that undergone for 15 days was informative as well as
practical oriented. This training gave an opportunity to understand the challenges faced by
the organization on daily basis. It also helped to gain immense knowledge in regarding the
activities of various departments like purchase, sales, production, quality control,
marketing, accounts, and personnel departments of industry. It has benefited a lot in
training which had undergone. Thank everyone in the organisation sincerely who gave this
opportunity to acquire knowledge in this field and who helped to complete the internship
training successfully.
