1.0 INTRODUCTION
M/s. Puranik Builders Pvt. Ltd. Thane plans on construction of a 126.45m high
residential building above ground and basement at 4.75m below ground. The location
for the same is at Bhayandar pada, Thane, Maharashtra. It consists of Basement,
Ground, 1 Mezzanine floor, 2 Office floors, 2 Service floors, 1 Stilt level, 37 Residential
levels and 1 Fire check floor. The information provided herein establishes general
criteria for the structural design and performance of the concrete structure for this
project.

2.0 STRUCTURE

2.1 STRUCTURAL SYSTEM

The structural design of the project has been governed by the architectural concept
and the requirement for lateral force resisting system. The design of the structure takes
the following into consideration.

 Most cost effective construction program

 Efficient functioning of the building
 Speed of construction

Gravity System:

The gravity structural system consists of RC beam and PT slab construction supported
by RC gravity walls/columns.

Lateral System:

The lateral load resisting system consists of ductile RC shear walls connected by link
beams.

Foundation System:

The structural foundation system consists of RC isolated, combined or Mat Foundation

bearing on rock. The footing thickness vary from 1.0m to 1.5m.

The functional requirements of the building are tabulated below:

Table 2.01 – Functional requirement

Floor
No. Description Floor functional Requirement
Ht.(m)

1 Ground 4.75 Entrance lobby

2 Service floor 1.8 MEP/BOH/Electrical/AHU
3 Fire check floor 2.4 Residential Apartments
4 Typical floor (Floor 1- 37) 2.9 Residential Apartments
5 Terrace 2.9 Roof
6 Mezzanine floor 3.9 Shops
7 Office floor 3.6 Office spaces
8 Podium floors 4.2 Parkings

2.2 FOUNDATION
The soil profile as per Geo-tech Report dated 5th Feb 2018 by Geocon International
Pvt. Ltd. shows greyish hard basalt bedrock at depths of 5.0m to 15.0m on the site.

1. SBC considered is 250T/m2 with maximum settlement of 12mm at level RL =

+17.75M level.
2. Modulus of subgrade reaction Ks= 20,800 T/m3
3. The ground water table was not encountered during boring till termination. For
design it is recommended to be conservatively taken at RL +22.0 m.
